A word on difficulty

We made our game to be purposefully difficult. If you know our studio, we don’t make easy games. We are quite brutal with the challenges that we offer players. Our games aren’t for everyone! However, we do hope that you enjoy the challenge and over time you will most definitely be able to clear the maps consistently.

However, we are aware that it can be frustrating to gain Halos because only 1 was awarded to the winning player. If you’re up against experienced players, or god forbid hackers, then this gets even more frustrating. To counter this, we are making some changes:

  • Every player will receive 1 Halo for finishing any round

  • Winners will receive 3 Halos for winning the final round

  • The number of Halos for each rank has been increased to accommodate this

  • You can now receive Halos from custom games (round time must be 3mins or less and all levels selected)

You may lose a few of your ranks and we are really sorry about that but we wanted to make this correct before we bump the rank cap very soon. This is why we capped the max rank to 10 since launch as we wanted to be able to make adjustments if necessary with the least amount of rollback as possible. You can gain back ranks much easier now with this change.

Public lobbies not starting

We’ve made a few changes to ensure that lobbies can get started even when there are AFKers / trolls in your game:

  • As soon as 2 players go into the ready room, the timer will start

  • If there is less than 6 players in the lobby, the timer starts at 120s

  • If there are 6 or more players in the lobby, the timer will go to 60s

  • If everyone in the lobby enters into the ready room, the timer will go to 5s

We feel like this will give a good balance between ensuring games get started promptly but also allowing them to fill up when other players are online and searching.

Other changes

  • A system message is displayed in the chat with their time when a player finishes on each level

  • The timer won’t reset in the Lobby when new players enter

  • Fixed an issue where kicked players would not be able to interact with the region picker after going back to Lobby

  • Fixed an issue where the clock would not render if joining after the 60s timer had started

  • Gangnam style emote loops smoother

  • Prevents an issue where players could be considered finished when they hadn’t fully crossed the finish line yet

  • Few fixes for the emote wheel interactions

  • You can now rebind Q and E keys

  • The word “prone” is no longer filtered by the profanity filter

  • Server browser list items now scales better on different resolutions

  • Number of halos shown to the winner at the end cutscene matches the format shown in the character selector screen
