Kriegsspiel ~ 7 Years' War changes
Some major changes have been released on Steam this week for Kriegsspiel ~ 7 Years' War. After a lot of patches, it should be stable now (thx to Karl Adler by the way !!!). A little video describing changes is available here:
My favourite new feature is the fact that we can read reports from regiments. Honestly, it does not bring a lot, gameplay speaking: almost every data you can read is reported in the UIs. For instance, if you read an officer complaining about its battalions fleeing, you may already see in the UI that the reported unit has a white flag on it, or has fled to the camp. But it adds the immersion, and it was fun (and not so hard) to code. So I am quite satisfied about it :
Here is the changelog :
Forests and battlefield rendering improved : it could slow down game on some configurations, please tell me if it is the case. It will help me improve this part of the game.
Regiment reports are displayed in the UI as text, and image.
Casualties are reported over units for a little time on the battlefield.
Some statistics (stamina, morale, fight readiness) are now rendered as bars.
Music has been added, music, sound effects and global volume can be set now.
Sound and visual effects have been improved (dust behind walking units, sparks, smoke, cannonball impacts, bullets whistling, more shoud from officers and some war drums during fights).
It may now rain on the battlefield: this impacts tiredness and musket fire efficiency.
other refactorings and bug hunting...🦗
Game is ready to test. Feel free to try it and tell me if it pleases you or not! I am trying to create a crowdfunding campaign to allow me to work full-time on this game, and finish it as fast as I can.
See you soon.
