addedIn an attempt to be as transparent as possible, this decision wasn't an easy one. After only a few days we've decided to make Krieg free to play. Everyone who has purchased the game, we cannot thank you enough. Your belief in our game means the world to us, and I'm not sure if it's an automatic process or you have to physically hit the refund button, but EVERYONE can get a refund and enjoy the game for free. Let me explain our reasoning behind this decision. Our plans for this game are huge, and our team is unfortunately still very small. This means our time is stretched incredibly thin no matter how we end up spending it. Our hope was that we could raise enough money with Krieg that we could pour every penny back into developing a more solid back-end, more robust matchmaking, singleplayer/co-op missions, new characters, new maps... and while we still fully intend to add all these things, we've realized that VR is still in its infancy, and we can't depend on the market supporting our game no matter how good it is. The barrier to entry is just too high, and the market is just too small to support all the good games that are coming out almost daily... just check http://vrlfg.net/ to better grasp the point I'm trying to make. Even the BEST multiplayer VR games have at MOST 100 players online at a time, sometimes pushing past 150. When you compare that to PUBG 500,000 players online in the middle of the day, with a 1.5 million peak in the last 24 hours... it's easy to see the difference. Our goal with making the game free is to get it into as many hands as possible. It's a potentially large loss of revenue, but in the end if more people are able to play, that's a win in our book. Perhaps things will change down the line, but at least for now (and the foreseeable future), please enjoy Krieg for free :-) Much Love, Castle Steps Team
