We have finally left early access!

After 2 years of development and 1 year in early access Kitten'd is now version 1.0! We want to reach out and give a BIG hug and thanks to everyone who helped us shape this game into what it is today. The early access input has been great for us and massive changes have been made based of your excellent feedback. <3<3

  • Greatly reduced texture memory usage.

  • Pointing at a kitten now shows the kitten’s mood if it doesn’t have a specific need to show.

  • Fixed issue with pointers and holding positions being offset from you controllers.

  • Improved the VR placement of your controller with the IRL version for all controllers.

  • Added some resistance when petting kittens.

  • Fur now reacts on the kitten when you pet it.

  • Added dynamic sound when you pet kittens that sounds like you are petting fur.

  • Added a little bit of particles when petting kittens.

  • The way the game calculates and gives you points for petting a kitten that needs love has changed.

  • ( Big thanks to @fusedotcore for giving us feedback on this )

  • FIxed poopiness calculations.

  • Revamped the stats on kittens in my room a little bit to make them want to play more and poop a little less. (Thanks Rich and Alli)

  • Removed the handheld laser pointer and added another laser tower instead.

  • Laser tower 3 now moves the mirrors when lasering making it even more laser.

  • Added one achievement per cat race when they are picked up.

  • Fixed several issues with achievements.

  • Oculus onlyAdded achievements to the oculus build.
  • Oculus only: Picking up a cat in the oculus build and getting the achievement will not add the cat to your oculus home.

  • Oculus only: Kittens will now be named after your oculus friends! <3

  • Friend names now get clamped in a better way if they are too long.

  • Improved leaderboard loading.

  • Fixed a very expensive part when calculating scores.

  • Oculus leaderboards should now work for both friends and global, oculus does not currently support a “get scores around rank” so instead we now show you your current placement and score.

  • Fixed issue with the self-destruction button in world 2.

  • Added a new separate startup screen to make it more clear that my room is a seperate gametype.

  • Added different music to each world.

  • Moved around level unlocks a LOT to make the progression with unlock through the story make better sense.

  • You can now smack the UFOs with things you hold in your hands.

  • Litter now correctly changes the color of the litter in the litter box.

  • Glue gun is now a lot more fun to shoot.

  • Added a limit for poop-smoke to avoid my room getting to steamy.

  • Changed the startup process so that it fades from black instead of white to avoid blinding players.

  • Fixed a issue where the persian turned very..horrible at times in my room.
