King’s Well changes
A major new update is now live for the King’s Well Demo!
We’re drastically changing how combat plays out by introducing a dynamic new behavior system for the mechanical horrors waiting for you in the pit.
What’s New in the Well?
Enemy Intent System
Enemies can now use a variety of actions beyond simply attacking. They may disrupt your deck, weaken your cards, disable your machines, steal your gold, or repair themselves. We have added 12 new enemy intents:
Charging: Increases the enemy’s damage for its next turn.
Blank Card: Adds Blank Cards to your hand. Blank Cards cannot be played anywhere.
Poison Card: Adds poisoned 2s to your hand. If they remain unplayed, you lose 5 HP.
Bloody Aces: Adds a -2 HP penalty to the Aces in your hand.
Rusted Royals: Reduces the Power of Face Cards in your hand by 5.
Lock Poker Machine: Disables the Poker Machine for a set number of hands.
Sleep: The enemy skips its action.
Extortion: Steals 10 Gold from you each turn for a limited duration.
Tetanus: Inflicts Bleeding, causing you to lose 10 HP each turn.
Fatigue: Reduces the number of cards you draw by 1.
Jammed: Prevents your weapons from attacking for one turn.
Auto-Repair: Restores 10 HP to the enemy each turn for five turns.
Additional Improvements
The game’s font has been updated, alongside several visual changes to improve overall readability.
New background musics has been added.
Various balancing adjustments have been made.
Tooltips have been visually redesigned and improved.
