King's Guard changes
The wait is finally over! (Somewhat)
We're thrilled to introduce the long-awaited phased mechanics system — a full reimagining of how you first set foot inside King's Guard. Think of it as a replacement for the old tutorial, except one that doesn't make you feel like you failed the Royal Academy entrance exam on your very first day. If the game's mechanical depth previously felt like a wall rather than a door, this update is here to change that.
Oh, and we also snuck in some roguelike elements. You know the ones. You love them. We know.
On a completely unrelated note, we have been extremely busy this past sprint carefully crafting, coloring, and animating a gorgeous illustrated sprite for Arianna specifically for this post. (She is still a gorgeous 16×16 monoblack sprite in the actual game. We think she looks very fancy either way. We're proud of her.)
