changedSteam post imageWow, time flies. It was three years ago that Oksana and I decided to set off on this crazy adventure and started Seeker Entertainment. We’ve both been involved in enough early companies to know how insane that whole idea was so founding it on April Fool’s Day felt very appropriate. We certainly weren’t wrong. It’s been quite a ride from setting up the company (how many people really want to spend their time picking health insurance options?) to building the team and crafting the game that would eventually become the KinForge we know and love. And doing it during one of the craziest times the game industry has ever seen has been…interesting.
changedSteam post imageThat combination of attention and craft has led to my favorite part of developing games: seeing people play and fall in love. We recently did a playtest with award-winning voice actor Eli Harris who reached out wanting to be involved in the game after watching the trailers and being enthralled with the world we’re creating. Oksana and I hopped in with him and a friend and had a blast! We ended up recording it and you can see some of the footage here .
addedSteam post imageSo what’s next for us? Our next major milestone is working towards being able to open up playtests to a larger audience without needing to host the games ourselves. I expect to see that come to fruition this summer and it’ll allow us to significantly increase the amount of playtests we run so keep an eye out for invites! Thanks once again for joining us on this journey! Until next time,

Wow, time flies. And things just keep accelerating. Since we announced the game in November, the response has been extraordinary! That little trailer we threw together on a two-week notice ahead of the GamesBest award ceremony exploded and has been watched almost 2 million times. We followed it with more detailed dives into the combat, progression, and narrative of the Elementals.

At the same time, the team has continued building out the game with a combat demo that we showcased at the DICE gaming conference and a vertical slice that includes a basic campaign structure at GDC. We've been actively looking for a publishing partner for KinForge and saw a lot of excitement for the project at both shows. Hopefully we’ll have some concrete announcements to make in that regard in the near future.

That combination of attention and craft has led to my favorite part of developing games: seeing people play and fall in love. We recently did a playtest with award-winning voice actor Eli Harris who reached out wanting to be involved in the game after watching the trailers and being enthralled with the world we’re creating. Oksana and I hopped in with him and a friend and had a blast! We ended up recording it and you can see some of the footage here.

We’ve also been seeing some amazing creations from people discovering the game. This is one of my favorites.

So what’s next for us? Our next major milestone is working towards being able to open up playtests to a larger audience without needing to host the games ourselves. I expect to see that come to fruition this summer and it’ll allow us to significantly increase the amount of playtests we run so keep an eye out for invites! Thanks once again for joining us on this journey! Until next time,
