KILLER INN changes
Steam post image Anti-Cheat
Killer Inn now integrates Easy Anti-Cheat as a mandatory pre-requisite to play the game
This service will run automatically when opening the game to validate the integrity of game files, to help prevent cheat software from being used
Weapon fire rate is now validated by the game server to prevent super-attack-speed cheats
New Player Experience
The conditions to be considered a "beginner" have been revised from "20 games played" -> "30 games played OR 10 kills"
Beginner players now receive gameplay buffs while playing their first casual matches of Killer Inn
Permanent buffs: +50% debuff resistance, +25% physical damage reduction, +50% gold and XP earned from all sources
Your guest room drawers are guaranteed to contain a Stunner
These features are intended to help players who are newly joining KILLER INN learn the game more smoothly.
Creating a new account or otherwise pretending to be a beginner in order to receive the above buffs, gain an unfair advantage, or use them to hunt new players — commonly known as “smurfing” — is a violation of the KILLER INN Community Code of Conduct.
Please be aware that such behavior may result in action being taken against your account, including an account ban. We kindly ask all players to respect the purpose of these features and help keep KILLER INN welcoming for new players.
Revised the death tip panel on the elimination screen to stand out better visually
Matchmaking
Casual games with 16 or fewer players will now always load Lunum Wing
Games will more readily form into 24 player matches when there are enough players for this to occur, rather than two separate matches of 12 players each.
Players with extremely high or low skill rating, and high or low chance of becoming wolf (due to streaks of playing one team or the other), will match more readily than before, especially with low population counts.
Interface
Options
A new Push to Mute option has been added, allowing outgoing voice chat to be easily muted while held
A new Tap to Sprint Behavior option has been added, allowing sprinting to automatically turn on when you have enough stamina, until Tap-to-Sprint is manually toggled off again
This should make melee swinging more consistent for those who use Tap to Sprint, in particular controller users
The max starting gold option now goes up to 1000 in the custom lobby rules

Voice chat attenuation can now be modified in the audio settings
This determines how much other game sounds are muffled when players are using voice chat

Quality of Life
Spectators can now hear proximity voice chat around the player they are spectating
The spectator player list panel has been revised
The suspects menu is now sorted by player index by default
The suspects menu can now be sorted properly by clues and trust status
Damage over time numbers now tick at a fixed 1 second interval and combine all sources of damage over time on the target
Clue flourishes when upgrading clues at the workbench now display immediately in the menu rather than after leaving the workbench
Career stats can now be filtered by season and default to the latest season
The battle pass tab now shows a notification dot when any reward track has items to claim
Revised the appearance of the safe zone panel to be more readable
The workbench now sorts available clues by completion status
The spectator player list panel has been revised
Status effects on the healthbar now animate significantly faster
Damage indicators and status effects now appear even while inside a menu
The battle pass menus now automatically open the reward track to your latest tier
Misc
Updated the Discord link displayed in game to use the latest custom invite link
Revised the layout of the workbench upgrade menu to leave more room for long descriptions in some languages
The main menu now displays an informational Early Access message when first entering the game after each update
Bonuses to damage over time now explicitly list the damage types they affect instead of reading as "potency"
For example, Ninja's Stealthy passive now reads "+20% physical, toxic, and bleed damage while invisible"
Revised the ability description text panel to have slightly more room for long text
Revised the placement of melee upgrade icons on the equipment HUD panel
Gameplay
Wolves can now bribe clues pointing to other wolves
Wolves can now pretend to upgrade partial clues
Ladder climb speed is now capped
Certain cases, such as using the cat charm, speed potion, and a character speed passive in combination, could result in exceptionally fast climbing animations
Level
The positions of certain secret passage levers have been revised to be more obvious
Revised the position of some sconces that could block player movement
The levels now have multiple paths to access the harbor once the main bridge opens
There were times where people who reach the harbor quickly can guard the one entrance, resulting in a fight on the bridge, rather than engaging inside the harbor itself. By adding multiple routes, this makes it more difficult to camp a single choke point.
Audio
Revised the sound FX for Gambler's Good Fortune passive
Revised the stunner sound FX
Added a custom sound FX when a neck guard breaks
Characters
(NEW) Assassin
Level 2 Passive Ability - Toxicology
+30% toxic damage, inflict +20% damage as toxic over 30s
Level 4 Passive Ability - Contract Killer
Killing a wolf grants 150 additional gold. Killing a lamb grants 50 additional gold
(NEW) Runner
Level 2 Passive Ability - Athlete
+25% maximum stamina, +25% stamina regeneration
Level 4 Active Ability - Sprinter
Activate to gain +25% sprint speed for 10s. 40 second cooldown
Detective
Clue Collector now gives health on conceal instead of inspect when playing as a wolf
Gangster
(revised) Level 4 Passive - Decked Out
BEFORE: SMGs automatically have all Tier 1 upgrades unlocked
AFTER: All Tier 1 SMG upgrades unlock simultaneously
Decked Out no longer instantly gives all Tier 1 upgrades for free; instead, purchasing any Tier 1 upgrade for 75 gold as usual will automatically unlock the other options
Retaliation
Retaliation no longer leaves overhead icons for the attacker or the victim
Retaliation kills and assists no longer give gold and XP
Pickpocketing now allows the victim to retaliate
Pickpocket challenges no longer appear in daily or weekly challenges
While the retaliation icon helped users discover this functionality, it also allowed players to immediately identify who had attacked them, reducing opportunity for stealthy play by wolves. It also made it so lambs did not need to identify wolves, but could just wait to be attacked, reducing the value of the clue system. To counteract this and increase the win rate and stealthy play among wolves, we have removed the retaliation icon.
Grappling
The neck guard is now always consumed first before stunners when grappled from behind
Melee
Melee sprint attacks now trigger even at low velocities, if sprint is presently active
Previously, a melee attack right after starting to sprint would be below the sprint swing threshold, causing you to perform a regular swing, which could make the swings inconsistent and hard to predict. This should make it easier to control, especially for controller users.
Metagame
Fixed a case where metagame progress would not save correctly if you were the last one to die
Fixed match durations in match history including the wait time before all players loaded
Interface
Fixed hold progress on shop actions (e.g. buying items) resetting whenever taking damage at the doctor staff
Fixed the Season 1 battle pass selector incorrectly showing the premium pass as owned when it wasn't
Fixed lambs sometimes incorrectly appearing as revealed in the clue corner when spectating a wolf player
Fixed the kill zone death message using the wrong text and icon
Fixed cases where multiple damage over time effects applied at once would not add together correctly in the overhead damage number display
Fixed bug preventing hyperlinks from opening for some users
Fixed CEO's Hoarder passive icon glowing even when at 0 gold
Fixed default keybinds causing the item wheel to open when activating a character's active ability
Fixed the AFK warning message text being incorrectly positioned on the screen
Fixed clues shuffling positions in the list after being upgraded at the workbench
Fixed the HUD icon for the guardian keys to properly indicate when it has been dropped from a guardian
Fixed the capitalization of the workbench upgrade text to be consistent

Fixed the match start immunity timer being desynced from the main match timer by 1 second
Fixed the healthbar display being desynced for the guardian when its health was modified by custom lobby rules

Gameplay
Fixed a case where holding squad push-to-talk would make you hear your squadmates' proximity chat from any range
Fixed damage over time sometimes applying up to a full extra tick of damage when removed
Fixed cases of players becoming embedded in each other after dismounting from the top of a ladder
Fixed players rarely being launched into the air after jumping and throwing a projectile
Fixed incorrect player hitboxes when using projectile weapons such as darts against crouched players
Fixed being poisoned during a decrypt quest sometimes causing the quest to not complete
Fixed axe and dart sometimes applying too much total damage over time due to some upgrades applying twice
Fixed players gaining move speed when hit by fast acting poison spray, instead of losing move speed
Fixed equipment sometimes still being visible on the Physicist when Light Bender is active
Fixed a case where bleeding could not be cured with a health pack when the player had overhealth
Fixed the neck guard completely disappearing if the player's utility slots were full when its last durability was used
Fixed guardian keys sometimes flying away and becoming irretrievable if dropped next to a wall
Fixed movement being stuck slow even after curing poison
Fixed players not seeing the elimination screen if killed while upgrading at a workbench
Fixed clues to no longer drop from grappling if the victim successfully blocks the attack
Fixed players being able to use an antidote while only affected by bleed, thus wasting the antidote
Fixed a case where bad guessing from an instant kill would not correctly restore the victim's health and statuses afterwards
Fixed the Lawyer being able to directly purchase a broken neck guard from the shop
Fixed bug where Cosplayer hedgehog menu would not close if you got poisoned or stunned
Fixed joining custom lobbies as a spectator and having no valid players to spectate
Fixed the hedgehog interaction menu not closing on taking damage when that option was set
Fixed an issue where other players could appear stuck after vaulting
Fixed showdown mode incorrectly triggering during the tutorial
Fixed trap notifications to play when the triggering player's role is unknown
Fixed guardian keys left in the world to be deleted when the harbor opens by timer
Fixed progress becoming locked in the tutorial when opening the map while another menu is active

Fixed rare cases that could cause the players arms to stretch unnaturally when falling while aiming

Fixed various animations having held objects desynced from the player's hands while on a slope
Fixed T-pose issue when trading multiple stunners to other players consecutively
Fixed item trade animations to equip and unequip items much more efficiently
Fixed bug where opening a door after falling could cause the player to slide

Graphics
Fixed clipping issues with the wolf body armor skin on certain characters

Fixed a sacrifice location in Solarium Wing that overlapped with a token dispenser

Fixed partial clues continuing to drop and play sounds after the match had ended

Fixed text overflow in the emote wheel in some languages
Fixed text overflow on the inventory wheel item descriptions in certain languages
