Launch Physics Improvements

The flight dynamics calculation during launch has been changed from a rotating reference frame to numerical integration in an inertial reference frame. By giving the spacecraft the launch site's rotational velocity as its initial velocity at liftoff, the Coriolis effect and the delta-v bonus from eastward launches are now naturally reproduced through the physics simulation.

In addition, the vehicle's center of mass is now calculated, and the vehicle rotates when the thrust vector is offset from the center of mass (thrust torque physics). Along with this, roll control during launch has been added and tuned.

Display & Control Improvements

  • Improved how the trajectory is drawn during launch

  • Changed SAS attitude control during time acceleration (×10 or higher) to an instant method, improving tracking of the target direction

  • Improved the behavior of the HORIZONTAL button. It now automatically disengages once the spacecraft reaches a level attitude.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in the VAB where alignment did not work correctly when attaching multiple parts

  • Fixed a flickering issue when selecting a spacecraft for the first time
