To Everyone Playing Keep Digging
Thank you as always for your support. Today, I’d like to talk a bit seriously about the current state of the studio and about Version 2.0.
First, a heartfelt thank you
This year, Wild Dog was honestly in a really precarious state. To be completely honest, things were so tough that we weren’t even sure the studio would make it through the year.
In the middle of all that, Keep Digging ended up being played by far more people than we expected, and thanks to all of your support, we now have a realistic outlook that we’ll be able to keep making games next year too.
That said, we’re still just a small indie game studio, and it’s not like we suddenly have a lot of room to breathe. Even so, we want to make sure we use this “barely hanging on” chance to properly give something back to everyone who supported us.
About Version 2.0
From a business perspective, Version 2.0 is an update that is completely unprofitable — it’s a money-loser on paper. Even so, we decided to make it because we wanted to shape Keep Digging into something that would leave everyone who bought it feeling even more satisfied.
With Version 1.0, we were heavily constrained by budget and time, and there were parts where we felt, “We could have done more.”
Reflecting on that, we decided to create 2.0 as “the best Keep Digging Wild Dog can make right now.”
Originally, we considered releasing it as a paid DLC or even as a sequel. But this time, as an expression of our gratitude, we chose to release it as a free update.
In terms of content, we’re planning:
A completely new stage
Over 300 new items
New game systems such as tool crafting, smelting, and enchanting
New costumes
New trophies
We’re planning to release it this winter, so please look forward to it just a little longer!
Coexistence of Version 1.0 and 2.0
From the title screen, you’ll be able to choose between “Version 1.0” and “Version 2.0.”
We’ve intentionally left Version 1.0 untouched. We did consider changing the systems from the ground up, but for those who have been playing since launch, as well as those who will play it in the future, we decided to leave it as is. We do plan to fix minor issues such as bugs at the time of the Version 2.0 update.
Version 2.0 is an expanded edition that significantly revises the systems, pacing, and variety of gameplay.
In terms of feel, you can think of it as:
“You can basically play Keep Digging 2 for free.”
It’s also possible to jump straight into 2.0 without playing 1.0. We’d be happy if you enjoy either 1.0 or 2.0 — whichever you prefer — or both.
About our new title in development, DMZ: Nuclear Survival
We’re also continuing development on our already announced new title, DMZ: Nuclear Survival.
It’s a survival crafting game that massively expands on the digging elements of Keep Digging!
Please add it to your wishlist and stay tuned for more updates.

In closing
Thank you very much for reading this far. And above all, we’d like to once again express our deep gratitude to everyone who picked up Keep Digging.
We hope you’ll continue to support Wild Dog and our games in the future.
