addedNew MonumentsMonuments are a new building type that can be unlocked as a result of different victories and sacrifices that help shape your empire. Inspired by real historical structures from around the world, these buildings serve as impressive centerpieces for your cities, perfect additions around parks and state buildings, while also providing thematic bonuses tied to the events that unlocked them.
addedNew LandmarksLandmarks, iconic buildings and wonders you’ll recognize from nations around the globe. These are also unlocked through events and milestones, but are primarily designed to let you recreate real-world locations or craft your own alternate history. As they tend to be very visually prominent, we didn’t want players to feel they have to build them to acquire a desired boon so in the end we decided to keep them purely cosmetic. We hope to add more of these in the future and further represent different cultures from around the world.
addedPhoto ModeYou can now enter a new Photo Mode that allows you to take some more cinematic and lifelike photos of your interbellum cities. You have some options to take black and white photos or even panorama screenshots. We’ll likely add some more features to this mode down the line, so please let us know if there’s something you’d like to see in the future.
addedFireworksYou’re now able to also trigger celebrations across your city via the Town Center. Something that works really well with the new photomode if you want to show off your prosperous city in all its glory.
changedNew Infopanels FormatLast but not least, we also updated how the building and information panels in the game’s UI work. They’re now formatted as accordions, giving you access to more information within a single tab. This is just the first step in a series of upcoming UI changes, and the panels will continue to evolve to make all information more readily and easier to overview.
addedNew Infopanels FormatNext week we’ll have a new update on Warfare with our next dev diary entry. Things have been progressing a lot there so we’re excited to share more news with you.
