10,000 Wishlists! Demo coming this fall & Progress update 🎉

One year ago, Just Date Goth existed only as a few sketches… Today, thanks to your support, we've reached 10,000 wishlists, and the demo is finally coming this fall!

Here's what you'll be able to experience:

Let's take a closer look at what you'll see in the demo and what we've been working on:

Love interests

We hope you’ve already picked your favorite girl: Eva, classic goth, Lilith, the dangerous, or Maria, the MILF next door.

Over the past few months, we’ve been refining our girls: improving the model quality, polishing the textures, and creating their rigs.

Building 3D models from scratch is challenging, but the results exceeded our expectations. You can see it clearly by comparing Eva’s model from a year ago with how she looks now:

Just Date Goth takes place in a small town that our protagonist returns to. For the demo, we’ve created a range of locations to explore, from the train where the story begins and the protagonist’s apartment to a local bar and the girls' homes.

Over the past two months, we’ve added the office and cemetery, two of the final major locations planned for the demo. After all, no gothic game would be complete without a cemetery, and this one will play an important role in the story.

Mini-games and gameplay features

We don’t want to spoil the mini-games before you get to play them, but the demo will have them! Over the past month, we’ve polished one of them and built another from scratch.

We’ve also added:

• A day-and-night cycle

• A working notice board that gives the protagonist quests

• Story fixes and additions, including new quests for Maria and Eva

• An updated UI with improved dialogue boxes

…and much more.

We still have a few things left to work on, including voice acting, technical and visual fixes, scenes with the girls, and further UI improvements.

That said, we’re incredibly proud of how much we’ve managed to complete in just one year! For a small team like ours, it feels like a huge achievement!
