changedMost of my work in the past month has involved making the game handle the presence of two or more players. Previously, every script in the game only cared about one solitary player. Now it has to keep its story straight for everyone who wants to join and play together.
addedI've been going through this game piece by piece, making sure items, vehicles, NPCs, and other parts of the world agree with themselves and stay synchronized in multiplayer. At this point I've completed a large amount of core functionality- character models and animations, driving, riding shotgun, items, adding/removing engine parts, making sure vehicles maintain consistency in their fuel, part durability, as well as synchronization of doors, switches, lights, valves, etc.
addedI have more to do, like adding more character models so everyone doesn't look the same, reworking the save system to accommodate for multiple players who may or may not be present, figuring out which missions should be shared or exclusive, individual bank accounts, a text chat system, and adding a motel with extra beds to solve the early game bed shortage.
changedI want to keep you all updated. I don't like making announcements, but right now it's necessary. If I go a few weeks without saying anything, at least a few people in the comments will assume I've abandoned the game, fled the country, or got arrested. I promise I'm still here working.
