Let’s dive into details!

Multiplayer events will be available for PC platforms, meaning Steam, GoG and Epic Store with active cross platform multiplayer between them. The console version is coming along nicely, but please give us a few more weeks to polish the experience and properly test it, before we release it on PlayStation and Xbox 🙏.

For this patch we have prepared 15 tracks for you that further divide into races with up to 8 players in the lobby and 1 vs. 1 challenges.

Up to 8 player races:

  • Ebigo West Drift

  • Haikama Drift

  • Haikama Lake Drift

  • Ishihara Drift

  • Haikama Grip

  • Highway Grip

  • Hokkaido Grip

  • Tsukuba Grip

These races comprise of routes set on instanced parts of the open world as well as race tracks and include drift racing - the player who has more drift points after passing the finish line wins; and grip racing - your traditional “be the first one on the finish line to win” type.

They will be visible on the open world map when in a multiplayer session.

Each player can drive to the marker and interact with it to initiate the event. Players will have an option to play them solo, or send an invite to all players in their current session. Other players may join or decline. Those who decide to participate will be grouped up and moved to a separate session directly to the race.

PS. Beginning with this update, all open lobby multiplayer sessions will have Ghost Mode active in the open world, disabling car-to-car collisions.

Private multiplayer sessions will still have the option to either activate or deactivate Ghost Mode during the lobby setup.

1 vs. 1 challenges:

  • Tofuna Downhill VS Drift

  • Tofuna Uphill VS Drift

  • Ebigo West VS Drift

  • Enna Skyline Downhill VS Drift

  • Enna Skyline Uphill VS Drift

  • Enna Skyline Downhill VS Grip

  • Enna Skyline Uphill VS Grip

To challenge another player to a 1 vs. 1 event you need to be in the same multiplayers session and driving through the open world. When close to another driver, you will be able to check their stats and initiate a challenge from the pop-up screen. A map of Guntama will then appear with 1vs1 Challenge tracks visible on it. Selecting an event will send an invite to the player and if they confirm they will be moved to a separate session alongside you and the race will begin.
