The game, since its release—albeit unsuccessful—in Early Access on August 12, 2024, continues to be developed!
The development of the game itself began back in September 2022. During this time, a lot of work has been done, and it became clear that iZolated cannot be fixed on the current version of GameMaker Studio 1.4, and staying on the old engine no longer makes sense.
Many problems in the game are related to and stem from the core of the GameMaker Studio 1.4 engine. Therefore, the decision was made to rebuild the game from scratch on the new GameMaker Studio 2.0 engine and start testing among those who are still interested in playing iZolated.
IMPORTANT! The new Beta version of the game lacks other language localizations, so the first testing will be conducted among the Russian audience. English will be added later.
We will report on the development progress for the rest of the audience in our devlogs.
The current version of the game has been released to showcase mechanics, new locations, and, if necessary, to point out errors to us. We will try to fix and refine everything as much as possible to avoid making the same mistakes twice.
At the moment, only the game’s foundation is ready, to which the other game mechanics will be added later. All those that were in previous versions of the game.
Thank you for your attention to the project! Your support prevents us from giving up and motivates the game developer to continue working on the game, even if it means literally starting over.
Planned locations:
A small town in the eastern part of the map;
A countryside farm;
A tourist beach;
Abandoned mines;
A military airfield;
A railway depot;
Frosty mountains.
The game will also feature several new survivor camps with their own quests and reputation.
Among the new enemies, we want to highlight bandits who will appear in abandoned camps and near hunting towers. In fact, these towers will have to be defended.
There were many complaints about the frankly poor game interface, so we tried to fix this problem by focusing all attention on mouse control and responsiveness, postponing gamepad support for later.
