Repeated intro

Hey everyone, its been a month since my last update for It Takes a Village so I thought I'd take some time to fill you in on what's been going in the dev cave these last weeks.

What changed

0 fixes2 additions2 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
addedVillage LifeThe main focus has been primarily focused around village life and making it as engaging as possible. I've added a basic dialog system for the villagers to give them a bit more personality and not leave them like the soulless workers they previous were.
addedNew EnemiesEvery good game needs expressive and interesting enemies to fight. It Takes a Village is no different. Last week I added a Cyclops enemy to be the first real test you will face as a hero in training. It has a range of AoE and ranged attacks to choose from based on its current situation.
changedPlacement SystemI've revamped the icons that will represent the different items you can place within the game. This was to give a fresh coat of paint to the rather gross placeholder icons I had previously. This should give a much more professional look and match the aesthetic of the game.
changedNext StepsAll of this work is looking towards releasing a full trailer for the game to really show off what a player can expect from the game. Static images and gifs are one thing, but being able to see prolonged gameplay and finalizing the game loop is a much more difficult thing to achieve. I hope to have this ready in the next 2-3 weeks. I'll announce it to you all once its ready for viewing so stay tuned!
