Island Notes Major Version Update Announcement
Hello, everyone!
Island Notes has received a brand-new content update! This is a major update that modifies and expands many parts of the game. The full details are listed below.
1. The Archipelago Map Is Now Available
Please note: The new map is not connected to the old map. Existing save files can still be used to play on the old map, but you will need to create a new save file to experience the new map.
The Archipelago is a large map made up of multiple islands. Compared with the old map, the Archipelago introduces more than a dozen new creatures, including two even more powerful world bosses.
These two bosses were designed as late-game challenges for players who have raised and trained their pets. They are extremely powerful, so defeating them alone without the help of pets is not very realistic. However, players can also obtain their eggs, hatch them, and raise them.
The Archipelago features a variety of environments, including:
Snowy mountains
Volcanoes
Rainforests
Special locations
Other areas
In addition, players can still choose to play on the old map when starting a new game.
Elite creatures on the Archipelago no longer spawn at fixed locations. Instead, they spawn randomly, just like other creatures. Overall, the new map offers a more open and flexible gameplay experience.

2. New NPC
This update introduces a brand-new NPC on the new map.
Unlike the previous NPCs, this NPC was not stranded on the island together with the player. Instead, players must travel to a specific location to obtain her.

Location where the NPC can be obtained (You must defeat a nearby elite creature to obtain the key):
This new NPC is a genetically enhanced human with higher attributes and stronger combat capabilities. We also invited a voice actor to record a complete set of voice lines for her.
This update also allows NPCs to use the following weapons:
Pistols
Shotguns
RPGs
At the same time, we have optimized these ranged weapons and bow attacks, giving NPCs greater accuracy when using ranged weapons.
NPCs have received significant improvements in this update. Even during the early stages of the game, they can now provide players with considerable assistance in combat.
3. New Creature Mounting System
This update introduces a creature mounting system. Most creatures can now be ridden, including:
Land creatures
Aquatic creatures
Flying creatures
Due to the way the game was originally designed, pets of the same species can vary greatly in size. For this reason, mounting is currently supported only from a first-person perspective.
Players can use their pets’ abilities while riding them, such as:
The Ice Giant’s laser eyes
The Gene Dragon’s breath attack
4. New Creature Waves Featuring Flying Units
In addition to the major updates listed above, we have also adjusted many of the game’s numerical values and added creature waves that include flying units.
When starting a new game, players can choose whether to enable or disable creature waves featuring flying creatures.
5. Other Fixes and Improvements
Added a “Bear Grylls” option to the initial difficulty settings.
Added a shadow distance multiplier setting.
The creature wave delay value can now be set directly to -500. Setting it to this value will immediately trigger the highest-level creature waves, so please use this setting with caution.
Adjusted the in-flight parameters of different types of arrows. For example, feathered arrows now fly more steadily and drop more slowly than branch arrows.
Increased the damage reduction provided by all armor.
Optimized status damage caused by creatures. Health loss from status effects now occurs more slowly, giving players more time to recover their health.
Fixed several issues from previous versions.
