Weekly Development Update – Isla Paradiso Hello Islanders
This week was a big structural leap forward for Isla Paradiso.
Instead of just expanding systems horizontally, I focused on strengthening the core of the settlement — leadership, defense, progression, and player control.
The island is no longer just growing. It’s organizing.
New Core Buildings Introduced
This week I added several major buildings that shape the identity and structure of your settlement:
Town Hall – The administrative heart of your island • Barracks – Your first step toward organized defense • Burger Restaurant – Expanding food variety and lifestyle depth
Each of these buildings isn’t just decorative — they serve as anchors for new systems and future progression layers.
The Town Hall represents authority and long-term planning. The Barracks prepares your island for upcoming threats. The Burger Restaurant strengthens daily life and economic diversity.
Isla Paradiso is starting to feel structured — not just built.
Building Upgradeability Implemented
One of the most important systems added this week is building upgrades.
Buildings are no longer static.
You can now:
Upgrade structures to improve their output or functionality • Progress your settlement through layered improvements • Make meaningful strategic decisions about where to invest resources
This lays the groundwork for:
Tier progression systems • Specialized building paths • Long-term economic scaling
Instead of building wide only, you can now build deeper.
This significantly increases mid-game and late-game depth.
Villager Selection System Added
Another major addition: You can now select individual villagers.
This may sound simple — but it changes the feeling of control dramatically.
You are no longer just managing numbers. You are managing people.
This opens the door for:
Individual information panels • Future skill systems • Role management • Behavioral tracking • Potential story-driven mechanics
The settlement is becoming more personal.
Why This Matters
Earlier versions of Isla Paradiso focused mainly on basic economic loops.
Now the game is evolving:
From placing buildings To managing a structured society To making long-term strategic decisions
Leadership, defense, economy, and individual citizens are starting to connect into one cohesive system.
This is a foundational phase for everything coming next.
What’s Next
Expanding building upgrade depth • Integrating Barracks with combat and threat systems • Improving villager UI feedback • Continuing work on long-term progression systems
Each week, the island becomes more intentional. More systemic. More alive.
Thank you for being part of this journey 💙
