Isekat: Crushed by a Computer, My Beloved Kitten is Transported to a Fantasy World where its Typing Skills Save the Kingdom! changes
Hi everyone! It's your exhausted, overworked, friendly neighbourhood game dev, Calvin Karubin!
We've been silent for the past few months because... this is it! This is what we've been working on!
The New Languages Update!
Japanese, Spanish, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese language can now be selected on the Title screen!
This took us a whole lifespan and a half to implement. We had thought that replacing language text files should be plug-and-play... but boy, how wrong we were. It's been a very interesting and illuminating time on how differently different languages type... and how much we'd have to revamp the whole typing system to accommodate them.
The new language update is still in Beta as we go through the final rounds of proofreading. It'll be out in a few days, we reckon.
You can access it through the Beta channel under the Game Properties in Steam!
Other than that, here are the other updates!
Performance Upgrades
Game size reduced from 6GB to 4GB. Still trying to bring it down a little more!
Texture optimisations across the board
FPS improved overall. Isekat now runs smoothly even on lower end PCs!
Loading times greatly improved!
Game Features
The final boss BGMs finally loop seamlessly!
Added the ability to see your registered keypresses when they match something on the screen. Some languages turn this on by default due to the need to coordinate multiple key presses, but for default languages, you can also turn this on in the settings if needed!
After this update, we'll probably clean up a few more bits before wrapping up development on Isekat as a whole. Unfortunately, we will not be adding romance routes for the characters. That's because... we're working on a new game!! Is it another typing game? Is it a sequel? Stay tuned for updates! :D
For all of you who played our first ever indie release, truly, thank you so much. This past quarter of a year post-launch has been truly touching, seeing how many of you enjoying the fruits of our hard work.
I'll probably make one more announcement repeating most of this once I push this up to the main public branch, but I just had to let you all know first. Hope you enjoy the new and improved Isekat!!
