Iron Meat changes
You can change the main menu background into 1 of 3 different variants! Each one tells a different story, depending on your progress in the game! Beating every mission and reaching the ending will allow you to change your main menu background to any of the three variants!
1. The Lunar Research Base
In the default background, we see scientist Yuri Markov working in his laboratory on the Moon as he studies the Meat cell in containment. Throughout the animation, we see other scientists walking around, along with Sasha carrying some equipment--likely a Meat sample perhaps? Soldiers seen in the lab stand at attention and salute as Sasha passes them. Out the window, we see ships moving about the lunar station, oblivious to the tragedy about to unfold...
2. Lab in Shambles
When playing through Iron Meat for the first time, you'll notice the background reflects the tattered remnants of Markov's lab--now decimated and overrun with tendrils and growths of Meat spores! We see infected humans running around, along with Blats and Dragonflies! Outside, a Meatified spaceship lumbers past the ruined the laboratory window; suffice to say that "spaceship" is probably a LIVING THING now!
3. Blood Ring
After completing the game the first time around, you'll be greeted by a third background variant: a distant view of Earth with a blood ring orbiting around it! Following Vadim and Sasha's escape from the Moon, our celestial neighbor detonates, thanks to the latter's bomb-planting efforts. The remains of the Moon's fleshy innards now circle our planet.
Surely, with the Meat cell gone and the Moon destroyed, this marks the final end of the Meat and a new beginning for humanity...
...Right?
