Repeated intro
Hello everyone!
What changed
- Gameplay
- Maps
- UI and audio
What if you could fight in a mech, build your base, and command an army at the same time?
That’s the idea behind Iron Expedition.
Core Gameplay
You play as a mech commander with familiar top-down shooter controls:
WASD - movement
LMB / RMB - firing different weapons
At the same time, the game includes RTS elements:
base building
resource gathering
unit production
technology upgrades
Units Control
Units are produced at a factory. After being created, they automatically follow the player.
You can also give commands:
Shift + RMB - move to position
Shift + LMB - attack enemies along the way
Resources
Currently, the game features three types of resources:
Metal - the main resource (used for buildings, units, and weapons)
Fuel - required for unit production
Energy - generated by power plants
If energy runs low:
Production of units stops
resource gathering slows down
There are also points of interest on the map: resource deposits and loot containers. These areas are guarded by enemies, so you'll need to clear them first.
Enemy Pressure
Enemies periodically attack your base.
Before each attack:
a timer is shown
the attack direction is indicated
enemies are marked on the minimap
This gives you time to prepare and set up your defenses.
Missions
The gameplay is divided into separate levels. I plan to add a variety of objectives for each level, such as:
Destroy the enemy base
Tower defense-style survival
Intercept enemy convoys
Escort allied units
and more
If this sounds interesting, consider adding Iron Expedition to your wishlist.
It really helps and motivates me to keep developing the game.
