Thank you for your support of Inverted Angel.

We previously announced that the English version would be released in February 2026.

However, we need to delay the release once again.

To everyone who has been looking forward to it, we sincerely apologize for the repeated delays.

The current situation is as follows.

(We understand that this is our issue. This is not an excuse but an explanation of what happened.)

Under our original schedule, we outsourced the translation to a localization company, and we were supposed to receive a final draft in early February.

However, the first draft had many issues, such as basic English mistakes, inconsistencies caused by misunderstandings of the story, and overly literal translations of Japanese idioms.

So we decided to end the contract after further discussions.

We have now finalized the termination process, and we have started revising and rewriting the English text on our own.

However, it is a difficult task.

Although we are doing our best, we are not professional localization specialists.

Also, Inverted Angel is developed by a solo developer (though we conventionally use “we” in announcements).

Progress is currently around 5% of the total text since we started rewriting last week.

We will announce another update as soon as we have a clearer timeline for release.

Again, we sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting.

Localization example we’ve been discussing:

The Japanese idiom dasoku (蛇足), which means “adding legs to a snake,” roughly corresponds to the English idiom “gild the lily.”
