Into the Restless Ruins changes
Next Fest is upon us, and so as Gabe swoops around the place sprinkling treats like an indie game Santa, Into the Restless Ruins has a shiny new demo for you to try out!
We're very proud and excited to share all of the additions and improvements on the alpha demo we released for Tiny Teams last year, and very happy that now even more of you can play as we now support 13 additional languages (if yours isn't included, post below to request it)!
"So what's new, Tony?" you are probably thinking. And I'm glad you are, because I've typed out a big list here and it would go to waste otherwise.
Here's the change list:
A compendium screen for you to check out what you've discovered, between runs. It's broken down in to Cards, Creatures, Cantrips, Charms, Weapons, and Player Stats, and also shows what you need to do to unlock things. Very handy.
Mid-run saving, so you can leave and come back! This was our number one asked for feature after the last demo, and we listened to you :)
A new introductory level, Eorisdale, which gives a slightly gentler introduction to the game's mechanics. A total of 6 levels will be available for the full release.
A new boss and enemies to fight. Ever heard of The Grey Man, Am Fear Liath Mor? (Not the bad Ryan Gosling movie) Well, get ready to become super familiar with him.
Boon cards as a powerful new benefit when you claim a seal (they're like anti-curses).
Enemy hordes that attack when you claim a seal (cause it can't all go your way).
Cutscenes, to tell you the tale of the Harvest Maiden.
Improved tutorials and controls.
Dozens and dozens of UI and balancing changes based on player feedback.
More visual polish and variation in the levels, player and enemies.
New original soundtrack by Scottish Synthwave artist Russell Nash (if you enjoy bopping along, this will also be available to buy alongside the game).
Now supporting English, Turkish, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Portuguse (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Welsh, with Scottish Gaelic also coming for the full release.
We hope you enjoy the demo, and if you haven't already be sure to give us a wishlist and a follow as Steam notices these things and will help show the game to more folks (plus it means you'll get to hear when we announce the exact launch date)!
The game will launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch in early Spring and there'll be so much more to explore! To save you from having to ask, here's everything you can expect in the full version, in handy numbers...
116 cards across 7 categories (Rooms, Corridors, Curses, Boons, Herbs, Trinkets, and Injuries). 6 twisted ruins to master. 62 creatures, including 6 boss fights. 40 passive charms to earn during your adventure. 38 game-rule-bending Cantrips to adjust your run difficulty. 12 weapons to master. 22 echoes of the past & future to discover.
So yeah, please go check out the new demo, let us know what you think, and tell your friends if you like it!
Thanks and speak again soon,
Cheers, James, Rachel & Tony.
