changedI thought about making my own game in an open world scenario. In the past I have made a few games, but they were always far from being an open-world game. I thought about making a game in space, which was one of the easier approaches as there is free movement and tons of sci-fi resources which can easily be bought in the asset store. However I already know, and have a played a lot of space games. I really wanted to make it as “unique” as possible.
addedSince the space theme is out of the running, I started to think of a new location. Underwater came into mind but since I played Subnautica , I removed it from the list too. Another idea was to create a game-like movie, “The Core(2003)” came into mind and the theme would be inside the planet. However, it would be hard to create enemies inside the core of the earth and it would look very extraterrestrial, so it would end up being like a space game too.
changedLast Idea was to have the survival game inside the human body on a microscopic scale. After locking that idea down, I bought a few 3D models and created an artery map in blender(3D software) and started to fill the map with items.
changedFast forward to a year later, I had a pretty solid base game with a single map and I decided to launch it on steam as an early access game. I am super glad that I released in early access since I found devoted fans that are helping me with the game's development and how to continuously improve it.
fixedAnother 3 months passed and I released a new map with tons of new features, 2 more months after that and the 3rd map was released. Last month I applied bug fixes almost every day, improved performance, corrected mistakes and tuned the overall game-play. I am confident that with this pace, I can guarantee that new updates will keep on coming and at a very reasonable rate.
changedSo here we are now, present day, six months after launching Early Access on Steam. I finally decided that it is time to release the full game at the end of this month, October 29th 2021. The 3 maps provide 30+ hours of game-play. Testing alone costs us hundreds of hours and all preparations were made to the best of my ability.

One of the 1st concept images for the ship

As we near the full release of Insiders, I wanted to share a bit of background and history on how I started development.

It’s been 18 months since I last played ARK: Survival Evolved online. I can’t say I had a fun time with the multiplayer chat and experience, so it made me look for another survival game to dive into. While pondering what to play next, I thought of trying a single-player campaign for a change, which then brought me to Subnautica. And it was the right choice.

Now it’s up to you.

I still have so many ideas for new content and my only hope is that I will be able to work on this game for years to come.

Thank you very much for all your support, I honestly cannot thank you enough. For all those that wrote reviews on steam and gave feedback, I thank you wholeheartedly. It helped me a lot in developing the game and to make it what it is now.

Thank you to those who tried my
