A Quick Update On My Situation:

I’ve received messages from many people asking if I’m okay because of the terrible earthquakes that have struck my city, Caracas. I’m fine, but the situation is a disaster; dozens, perhaps hundreds, of buildings have completely collapsed, and many people have lost loved ones or friends, including me. Part of my family has come to stay with me because their buildings have developed large cracks, and they’re afraid to go back since there are still many small aftershocks occurring.

I have electricity but no running water; parts of the city have neither, but compared to many others and what they’re going through, I can count myself lucky. My home doesn’t seem to have suffered major damage or structural damage that would compromise its integrity.

A lot of aid has been arriving today from all over the world, aid that is desperately needed right now. What you see happening on social media… It’s better not to even look at it…

It’s very hard to sleep because of the trauma caused by the situation, and on top of that, there have been many small aftershocks. No one wants to go back to their buildings, so they’re sleeping on the streets or in their cars.

After cleaning all the mess at my place, today I’m making sure there’s food at home for my family, and starting this afternoon and over the next few days, I’ll see how I can go help those most in need. Many people have been left homeless, without food, and in an extremely sad and critical situation; they’re asking for food, clothing, medicine, and people to help clear debris to search for survivors, etc. Today I’ll set aside a large batch of my clothes to take to collection centers, as well as buy and deliver water and food to the people who are currently in the hardest-hit areas, helping to clear debris and search for survivors.

Believe me, you can’t imagine how grateful I am for the messages of concern and support I’ve received from you, it’s something that’s indescribable, and I’m grateful for it from the bottom of my heart 💗, that's why I've decided to take a moment today to write this message, it's the least I can do in return for all the love I've received, and so you won't worry.

Cherish life and give your loved ones and friends a hug; we don’t realize that, due to a random event, they might not be with us tomorrow.
