Guide of No Return
The Story Behind the Outfit
Meeting Within the Cycle
A new God of Reincarnation is born from the Soul Spring.
At their core, a golden light of authority flows—an inborn charge to guide souls along their final path home. Before them, a surging current of souls flows on. They cannot yet hear the laughter in the wind like the chime of golden cups, nor read the low, hidden sobs in the dark... not until all things teach them the weight of death.
The first lesson of death comes from an Ambird. Its soul is as light as a feather, settling into their palm. They see a fledgling at the cliff's edge, wings spread against the storm, and the final feather drifting from the precipice. They close their hand and send the soul into the great current. On the wind comes a light, contented call. For the first time, they understand: death is not an end, but the moment when a life is made whole.
The second lesson of death comes from a pair of lovers. A young man, having journeyed far, arrives carrying the weakened soul of the one he loves, pleading for the god to mend it. The authority of reincarnation glows with a gentle light. The jagged scars begin to heal, and fragments of memory rise like a clear spring. They see the two guarding one another through a sky of war, and in their final moment, smiling as they leave behind a promise beneath rain and clear orchids. Their souls dissolve into points of light and drift into the current. Then they come to know: even death cannot sever a promise kept with one's life. Even the torrent of souls cannot wash away the tide called love.
The third lesson of death comes from one of their own. The dragon who has remained by their side the longest begins to shed her scales. She witnessed their birth, taught them to discern the joys and sorrows of souls, and once bore them along her spine to see the breadth of mountains and rivers. But parting is inevitable. Her life's flame is nearing its end. For the first time, the god wavers, stirring the current in an attempt to make her soul remain. She folds her wings over their trembling hands and offers one final lesson: "You have learned how to send all things on their way. Now... I can teach you no more." In that moment, they understand: the passing of one's own is also a lesson in death. And the weight of inheritance is far heavier than they imagined.
The final lesson of death comes from themselves. From the moment of their birth, the fate of the God of Reincarnation is set: to understand life most deeply, and in time, to walk toward the end of their own path. "This is but a farewell long foretold. Like all beings, I will return to the great current of souls... and from there, greet what comes anew." They brush a hand across the brow of a young dragon and look toward Dragon's Lair Peak, where each God of Reincarnation is born. Even now, a new light shimmers within the Soul Spring.
They recall, long ago, passing through Elderwood Forest, when a Shroomling pointed toward the towering Mothershroom and answered: "We come from there, and we return there." There are no lost souls in that place. Each Shroomling returns to the earth, becoming nourishment for the land, and in time is born again from the Mothershroom as a drifting Spore Drop. Perhaps the passage of life takes more than one form. When "death" is but another name for "rebirth," a cycle that needs no guiding is another way of understanding life. All things follow their own order, and all beings will find their own answers.
At last, their form dissolves into countless points of light, returning to the great current of reincarnation. Within those lights rests all their tenderness and longing for every life they have known across the ages. There is no need for sorrow. No need for regret. We part within the cycle, and within the cycle, we will meet again.
The Inspiration Behind the Design
The design of "Guide of No Return" draws from the themes of death and power. Beginning with the idea of "a god of boundless might," it turns toward a god who governs death and reincarnation. The design expresses these themes through the contrast of "weight" and "weightlessness." Death is often felt as heavy and piercing, yet here it is rendered as "weightless," like a veil of gauze drifting down from the heavens. Regardless of who they are, death arrives like the mist, certain to meet every life at its end. The god is envisioned as a ghostlike presence descending from the sky, light as the wind, yet bearing immense power. In this balance, grace and strength exist as one.
The Details Behind the Design
DRESS: LAMENT OF TEARS
The dress centers around the idea of "substance above and intangibility below." At the hem, mist gathers and stirs, while from the back of the waist a trailing veil of layered gauze unfurls in shifting textures. The train carries a natural sense of motion, shaping both the commanding presence of a god and the fading trace of a ghost dissolving into air. The off-shoulder silhouette, formed in softly rippling gauze, echoes this movement in quiet accord. To evoke the feeling of drifting down from the heavens, the hem and other weightless fabrics are shaped as though lifted against the wind, lending the entire form an airy, floating grace. At the chest, a heart like a cosmic core is held within, while white bone elements trace the front and back, accenting both power and beauty.

HAIR: LIGHT AND DARK
The hairstyle is built around two ideas: "lift" and "sharpness." From the outset, a range of fringe variations was explored, yet a clean, decisive silhouette proved most effective in defining its presence. Beyond its lifted form, the ends are softened with a subtle gradient and diffusion, allowing them to disperse like mist. Even in its fullness, the silhouette remains light and unburdened.

HEADWEAR: DIVINE ORACLE
From the outset, the design of the headwear was guided by a single idea: a mysterious god whose face can never be seen. Perceptions of death differ from person to person—some fear it, others meet it with calm. When the god gazes upon those who stand at the threshold of death, what reflection meets her gaze in return? From these questions, the final design takes shape: a faceless god, beyond all sight and interpretation. Continuing the dialogue of "lightness" and "weight" established in the hairstyle and dress, the piece forms a veil-like structure that is both weightless and quietly commanding, concealing her face within layers of drifting shadow and air.
BACKPIECE: FINAL PRELUDE
A god descending from the heavens calls for a piece that carries both presence and resolve. Drawing from the theme of death and the white bone motifs of the dress, the design takes shape as a pair of bone wings. Layered with diamond inlays and flowing carved patterns, the wings unfold like a work of art—seen from afar as a luminous silhouette, and revealed up close in intricate detail, where every line and facet holds its own quiet precision.
The Concept Behind the Ability
The "Guide of No Return" outfit embodies the passing of authority between successive Gods of Reincarnation. Its ability is "Guiding Star: Archery." Nikki rises into the air, her wings carrying her in steady flight as she wields both a full-length bow and a massive bow in combat. Flashes of sharp blue-violet light cut through the air, leaving behind trails of deep, shadowed mist. Together, they form a presence that is both sacred and commanding.

The Story Behind the Outfit
Watching Over the Sea of Blossoms
Long ago, the first generation of dragons stood beside the Gods of Reincarnation and planted a vast sea of blossoms—a symbol of hope and succession.
They remember that day well. As they first emerged into the world, the Gods of Reincarnation stood between heaven and earth. Under their guidance, the dragons learned to discern the joys and sorrows of souls, to safeguard the balance of reincarnation, and in time became their most devoted followers. Each night, they soared across the skies. Their ancient chants drifted through the winds of the Boneyard, like seeds of hope scattered across the land.
They bore witness from within the sea of blossoms.
Over a thousand years, the dragons watched as each generation came and went. With the fall of one god came the rise of another. Whenever a God of Reincarnation grew burdened by corruption and their form began to fade, the dragons would lift the ailing deity in their claws and return them to that original sea of blossoms. Then they would take up the mantle, serving as stewards of reincarnation in the deity's stead, guiding lost souls to the other side.
Until one day, a new God of Reincarnation would be born from the Soul Spring. The dragons would carry the young deity back to the blossoms, welcoming their arrival with a timeless song. They poured all they had learned into the deity's growth—teaching them to read the emotions of souls and to resist the encroaching corruption. When the young god faltered beneath that weight, the dragons raised solemn hymns to shield them. When disaster struck, they stood before the deity, warding off danger and guiding their path. And so it continued, until that generation, too, reached the end of its destined path, and another was born, the cycle unbroken.
They waited from within the sea of blossoms.
In the long absence of a god, corruption surged like a rising tide, eroding the dragons who guarded the cycle. Yet their devotion never wavered. So long as there were souls in need of guidance, the dragons would not abandon their watch. But time is unkind, and fate unforgiving. Countless fractures spread across their bodies. Their souls grew clouded, and even breathing became a burden.
They died within the sea of blossoms.
When the end finally came, the duty of reincarnation could not be allowed to fade. There, the dragons encountered wandering humans who had drifted to this land. Two races at the brink of extinction found renewal through each other's end. In their final moments, the dragons sang that ancient hymn once more—a farewell to the Gods of Reincarnation, and a blessing for the race yet to come.
The original sea of blossoms scattered into the winds of time. From the fallen dragon bones, new flowers began to bloom—blossoms born of sacrifice, flowers of inheritance—continuing to flourish across the Boneyard.
They still watch from within the sea of blossoms.
In time, the Parksolians became the new guardians of reincarnation. The will of the dragons lingers as a gentle wind across the Boneyard, quietly witnessing their growth. When night falls, the Parksolians gather by the fire, recounting the stories of the gods and the dragons. Tales of sacrifice, devotion, and inheritance glow in the firelight.
The sea of blossoms still sways in the wind.
"Even if a star falls, their light does not fade. It simply becomes something new."
The Inspiration Behind the Design
The design of "Floral Rebirth" centers on the idea of "bones as the foundation, flowers as the soul," where the unyielding strength of dragon bone and the blossoming vitality of life are brought into harmony. It embodies an aesthetic vision of "life blossoming upon withered bones."
A soft pink gradient defines the outfit's palette, evoking the translucent delicacy of budding petals, while shades of pink trace the gentle grace of flowers in bloom. Dragon bone and blossom meet in a delicate tension—strength against softness—expressing both the bloom of life and the soul's quiet lament.
The Details Behind the Design
DRESS: SPIRITUAL TRANSIT
The dress is shaped in a fitted silhouette, wrapping the form like a flower's stem, setting a contrast of "gathering and release" against the blossoms that billow and bloom at the bodice. A softly draping fabric lends both structure and tenderness, suggesting the quiet unfurling of new life, sustained by an unyielding core. With richness above and restraint below, the opulent bloom of petals rests upon the steadfast support of dragon bone, expressing both the "vitality of growth" and the "fragile beauty of life." It stands like an everlasting flower, "rooted upon dragon bone."
HAIR: LINGERING WIND
One version of the hairstyle features softly drooping short curls. The strands at the nape gather like tender petals, gently cupping the face with the rounded fullness of a bud yet to bloom. On either side, loose waves drift down in an unhurried fall, tracing the line of the neck and shoulders, echoing the bud-like silhouette of the bodice—unfolding as they descend, until they come to rest at the shoulders. In the other version, short curls lengthen into cascading waves, washed in a soft gradient. The silhouette softens, taking on a more tender, almost wistful grace.
OUTERWEAR: FLORAL ENIGMA
The petal-veiled silhouette is shaped through sculpted floral tailoring, where petals unfurl naturally from the shoulders and along the back, as though in full bloom. The lines remain soft yet distinctly dimensional, while the fabric echoes the layered texture of petals—each fold opening like a quiet bloom, revealing the fragility and tenderness of life. In its draped form, the design shifts from bud to blossom, transforming into a sweeping, weightless veil that falls from crown to hem in a single, flowing cascade. As it stirs with the wind, it becomes soft and indistinct, veiling her in a hazy stillness, an "ethereal yet resilient presence."
HEADWEAR: SILENT BREATH
The headwear is formed from translucent dragon bone, clear as crystal, adorned with a few blossoms that take root upon it. Slender bone-flowers cling to the structure, their forms slight yet unwavering.
The Concept Behind the Ability
The ability of "Floral Rebirth," "Bloomlight Shadowcatcher: Bug-Catching," centers on the concept of "flowers born from bone." When activated, bone chains coil around her fingertips as they brush lightly against the petals. Her body gradually unfurls from its encasing form, as though completing a quiet rite of transformation from death into new life, drawing nearby insects toward her. Vibrant petals interweave with bone chain elements in the visual effects, forming a presence where life takes root within death.
