Hey, everyone!
The demo update is live, and you can now test all the changes we made. We already listed them in the previous devs diary post, but we also prepared a little summary of everything that’s new.
Here are the main changes we've implemented:
Games now typically last 15–25 minutes according to playtests
Simplified scoring rule: control a zone by having more champions in it than the opponent
If neither side has the majority, fighting continues in the same zone
Match ends when one player controls 2 zones, or after 5 rounds (whichever comes first)
Arena Reduced to 3 zones (previously 7)
Map size decreased, so champions spawn closer to the objectives
Less travel time, combat starts sooner
Tutorial integrated into the Campaign and mechanics introduced gradually during Act 1
Tutorial reworked. Now it's challenge-based with clear short-term goals and less text
Several mechanics simplified to be more beginner-friendly while keeping strategic depth
Hype currency and manual card draw removed. Hype actions now automatically draw a Tactic Card
Sponsors changed: stepping on a sponsor tile grants one free Tactic Card
Ultimate Tactics are no longer purchased with Hype. It granted automatically at the start of a round from any champion that was in the scoring zone at the end of the previous round
All level-ups (skills and attributes) now happen only through Tactic or Hexadrop effects
Old flat defense reduction replaced with Armor points (equal to Defense stat)
Armor is depleted when taking damage and only refills at the start of the next round
Menu structure simplified for easier navigation
Updated visual style
Fame system completely removed
Replaced with direct unlocks of desired items
All these changes are already live and you can try the updated version right now.
Thanks to everyone who shared thoughts and played the demo! Your input helped shape these changes.
