Devlog 2026-03-21 (Mods? Mods!)

Happy Fri-erm-satur-day! <3 My little one has been dealing with a lot of emotions this week, so, by proxy, I’ve been dealing with a lot of emotions. It’s all good, though, and not at all a complaint.

changedBut what I really want to talk about is our upcoming HRM workshop. For those of you who don’t know what HRMs are, they are player-created stories, like mods, that you can load into your Infinite Stars game to play, kind of like the holographic simulations from Star Trek. We call them Holo-Reality Modules, or HRM’s for short.
changedWe’re having a small competition. ANYONE can write an Infinite Stars story (preferably one taking place on the Tabitha, so you can make use of the existing character sprites and backgrounds), and the winner’s story will be used during the workshop as the example to show everyone how to code their own HRM for others to play. (Meaning, we’ll code the winner's story for them, and I use the word ‘code’ very lightly. It’s super easy to do even without a coding background). There will also be other prizes for the top 3 entries. I’ll share more, including the deadlines and how to submit your story during the devlog next week. But for now, you are encouraged to start thinking and even writing your story. It can be any length, but 1.5K to 3K words are probably a good starting point.
fixedWe’ll also release the updated and fixed Android build next week, on Friday, and the non-patron, public build on itchio and Steam! <3
changedI love all of you so much. It’s strange having these strong emotional attachments to people you’ve never met, and who you only know by their online aliases. Still. Be safe wherever you are in the world, and be kind to each other.

My little one has been dealing with a lot of emotions this week, so, by proxy, I’ve been dealing with a lot of emotions. It’s all good, though, and not at all a complaint. I’ll take all the clinginess and neediness any day over the cold, hopefully-but-probably-not-avoideable teenage years.

My week has been another double down on my not-so-secret marketing campaign. It has started yielding results, and if I pull this off, it should create a constant traffic stream for years to come. I’ll share the details in next week's devlog (with a small request).

I’ve also been writing a short piece of relationship lore for Kiara, which should be live a little later this weekend for all our Lieutenant+ patrons.
