Infinite Ruins changes
First of all, thank you to everyone who has played Infinite Ruins since launch. Seeing you explore the ruins, discover new mechanics, and share your thoughts has been incredibly rewarding.
We've received a lot of valuable feedback from the community, and this update focuses on improving the overall experience with quality-of-life changes, Steam Deck improvements, bug fixes, and clearer game information.
If you're enjoying the game, please consider leaving a Steam review. It really helps an indie developer reach more players and continue improving the game.
Improvements
Added Cloud Save support.
Improved several upgrade descriptions to make their effects clearer.
Most upgrades now display specific stats such as Damage, Probability, Duration, etc. instead of the generic Effect label.
Swift Steps can now be purchased after unlocking either the Rock Golem or the Mechanic Golem, since it benefits all golems.
Treasure Golems now display a summary of all resources dropped when defeated.
Echo Mining pickaxes are now only shown when they actually hit a block and are easier to distinguish from the main pickaxe.
Improved gamepad and Steam Deck navigation in the Upgrades panel. Every slot in the grid can now be navigated, preventing confusing cursor jumps.
Added clearer antisynergy warnings to Frozen Depths and Ember Depths.
Added an option to disable the Upgrades and Golems button shake when new purchases become available.
Updated gamepad controls to better match common standards:
Right stick: Camera movement
Left stick: Cursor movement
Improved the Hands On achievement description. Fixed an issue where blocks destroyed by Echo Mining and Endless Excavation were not counted toward achievement progress.
Reduced the number of clicks required for interactive events to 5. Events with upgrades that reduce click requirements now require 7 clicks before upgrades are applied.
Removed the Restart option from the in-game menu.
Prestige upgrades now display links to their prerequisite upgrades, making progression easier to understand.
Reduced the upgrade requirements for Hidden Veins to appear
Added a help message when attempting to purchase Prestige upgrades from the read-only Prestige panel.
World Events now provide clearer guidance on how to interact with them.
Hold Shift while clicking to purchase 10 upgrade levels at once.
Updated default keyboard shortcuts:
Q: Upgrades Panel
E: Golems Panel
Tab: Stats Panel (replacing U, G, and O)
Bug Fixes
Fixed Treasure Golem particles only appearing after the first kill.
Fixed Minimalist and Pacifist Machines achievements unlocking incorrectly after loading a save.
Prevented UI navigation on certain panels while the game menu is open.
Fixed an issue preventing a new game from starting if the save file became corrupted. Added recovery support that allows continuing from a new run if prestige data remains intact.
Fixed incorrect resource bonus percentages displayed on Prestige upgrades.
Fixed tooltips getting stuck while navigating the Upgrades panel with a gamepad or Steam Deck.
Fixed several potential memory leak issues.
Thank you again for all your feedback and bug reports, they've been incredibly helpful.
If you've been enjoying Infinite Ruins, please consider leaving a Steam review. Every review helps more players discover the game and directly supports future updates.
Happy mining! ⛏️
