I hope you're enjoying the game! Here's a quick patch build for some of the items you've reported--keep them coming!
Fixes:
Gameplay
Tendril Snare targeting should now be more reliable. To help, I've added a "quick cast" on/off toggle in Settings so you can make it cast on keypress, or on keypress + target click.
Named captains now warp out when allowed to retreat.
Victory salvage boosted for multi-wave battles based on ships destroyed, rather than a flat amount by node difficulty.
If you rage-quit with Alt-F4 after a loss, but before returning to the galaxy map, your "Map" button no longer stays locked out. The fix is retroactive, so any saves with the issue should load fine.
Targeting a garrison enemy while a named enemy captain is present in the battle will correctly update the ship name in the hostile target info panel. Thanks, Dr. Wolf!

Codex/Help Menu
In the tutorial, some of the hints crop important parts of the associated marked up screenshot. The entries in the actual Codex don't have that problem, so while I work on a fix, you can find the same entry there and see the full notes.
Related: Some screenshots have their text bubbles overlapped. The text bubbles are actually overlays on top of a clean screenshot--the same cropping/resizing issue has some of them stacked. Luckily, in the actual Codex, you can see the related text by referencing the hint number!
In a couple of Codex entries, the text isn't trimming properly, causing the Archive menu to be squished.
Gameplay
The Tendril Snare ability VFX sometimes swoops in from somewhere that isn't your ship when used.
