We’re excited to bring you today’s update, including an important Unity version upgrade, new quality-of-life features, visual improvements, and several bug fixes to improve your gameplay experience!
---
Unity Version Update
New Unity Version: - We updated Inferna to a new Unity version. This is an important step for upcoming updates and helps us prepare the game for future improvements, features, and technical upgrades.
---
New Features
Overhauled Settings UI: - The Settings UI has been overhauled into a cleaner 1-column layout. - Some sliders now include input fields, allowing players to enter exact values more easily, such as for UI scaling.
Bleed Effect Returns: - The bleed effect when taking damage or being at low HP is back.
Improved Item Split Window: - The item split window now has an input field, making it possible to specify exact amounts when splitting item stacks.
Quest Area Highlight Improvements: - Quest area highlights now show the quest name when hovering over them.
---
Changes
Graphics & Visual Settings: - Removed the option to disable post processing completely. - Removed the option to disable lighting completely. - Improved automatic graphics preset detection on mobile. - The Day/Night cycle now defaults to enabled. - Dynamic shadow cascade distances have been adjusted to make shadow transitions less noticeable.
Hotkey Improvements: - The Debug Overlay F10 is now listed as a hotkey in the settings and can be rebound.
Name & HUD Adjustments: - In-world names are now slightly smaller and have a constant pixel size, meaning names appear smaller on larger resolutions. - Reduced HUD text size, as seen in the tutorial.
---
Bug Fixes
Dungeon & Collision Fixes:
- Fixed Zagan’s dungeon wall collisions.
- Fixed a missing rock collision on Caratas.
Fixed a few smaller object placement errors on the Forgotten Dune.
Visual & Effect Fixes: - Fixed the oversized selection effect for Kharos. - Fixed flying orbs, such as EXP, HP, and MP orbs, sometimes not resetting fully, which could lead to glitchy trails.
Controls & Interaction Fixes: - Fixed a case where clicking outside the Inferna window could still cause the player to move. - Fixed being unable to click “through” highlights or markers on the map and minimap to walk there.
UI & System Fixes: - Fixed untranslated hotkey category names. - Fixed a disconnect caused by an unhandled error at low quality settings. - Fixed validation errors not being displayed properly during actions such as character creation.
