Attention, Bloodbath Fanatics!
Hope your sawblades are humming with anticipation as we have more meat for you to chew through! The newest update will let you cut down the Growth in the Transitory Termination, a place filled with even more grisly obstacles and lethal encounters. To level out the playing field, we are giving you a new toy.
The new Mighty Spear ability. Hold “kick” to unleash a powerful wide-hitting melee attack that recharges over time. Mighty Spear can be used even while wielding a gun.
You are going to need it against the new new midboss, the Sentinel (The Gigachad). Ruthless, fast, with an ability to slow you down with his projectile or his great bell, he will be the absolute test of your abilities - a living reminder of the available difficulty sliders. You will have to move, react on time, and switch weapons to adapt to the situation. Worst of all, he is not the only one of his kind!
At least you can parry his bell with meele strikes...
One other thing, E2M1 and E2M2 boss “Mess” now dies from melee attacks only. This change has been made so as to address the confusion that many players had. The in-game tutorial texts now reflect this change.
Besides that, we have a plethora of smaller features and fixes - Dig in!
Major new features and changes:
New Level: E2M4 - Transitory Termination
New Boss and Mini Boss: The Death-Filth Child and The Sentinel.
Loading Screen Tips - To kill time, while you aren't killing stuff.
New, lore-friendly first-person-view arm model and textures
New ability: The Mighty Spear.
Minor new features and fixes:
New explosives scattered around most levels: Gas canisters and oxygen tanks.
Episode Select now shows up when selecting New Game
E2M1 and E2M2 endboss “Mess” now dies from melee attacks only.
Autorun is preserved between levels
Revolver and chaingun spin won’t get stuck randomly anymore
Revolver muzzle flash should appear in right position while rapid firing
“Use” distance increased by one meter
Interaction hand cursor won’t get stuck on screen anymore
Increased aim sensitivity slider for controller users
Health can be picked up during 1-UP death invulnerability
Kitty won’t absorb ammo at full health anymore
Flashlight cannot be toggled during pause anymore
Hemogoblins won’t get stuck if hurt while they are idle
Guns can be picked up even at full ammo now
Various unintended progression skips in EP2 levels have been patched
E2M2 toilets can only be flushed once to avoid spawning endless ammo
ESC now leaves submenus like Options or Level Select
Sawspear’s damage slightly buffed
Minigun’s accuracy slightly reduced
Minigun’s firing sound should play as intended
Blood effects shrink if player is too close to them to avoid obstructing the screen too much
Credits button in main menu
E1M5 elevator music now plays correctly
New Cheat, a spawn menu: All enemies and some items can be spawned by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+M, selecting an object from the menu using mouse, then aiming at the floor and pressing Use. This is a jank developer tool, but can be fun to play around with!
Did you know you can activate various developer cheats by combining CTRL+SHIFT+[number]?
Known issues:
E1M4, The Filth Pit’s music after entering the indoor zone might stop for the remaining level.
The screen flash when investigating a lorebit is buggy and might get interrupted or not flash at all sometimes.
Enemy juggling can still cause some odd behaviors in rare cases, like bodies not gibbing when hitting the floor, or enemies refusing to walk afterwards. This system will be revamped during EP3’s development.
Extremely rare bug that plays the splash sound of leaving water/swimmable blood when player comes up to dry ground.
