In Next Life changes
Tribe Ownership and Invitations
We removed the system with resurrection points on tribes. There will no longer be a point where the tribe "dies". It can be resurrected as many times as you like, using personal points that you earn by playing on other tribes. More about this a little further down.
The founder of a tribe will now be considered the leader/owner of that tribe. The owner gets to invite other players either as members of the tribe, or as temporary guests. Only owners and members will have the power to resurrect a tribe. We don't want an unlimited number of tribes, so there will be a cost of personal points to create a new tribe too.
When the change is rolled out we will look at the three adopted tribe slots you have. Those that are tribes you founded, you will be made the leader/owner of, and the others you will be made a tribe member of. Tribes that are not saved by anyone will disappear.
The owner can decide that the tribe should be publicly shown, which means that it is shown in the list of public tribes and anyone can join as a temporary guest. Conversely, the tribe can be hidden, so only players will an invitation code can join them. Member invitations will be time-limited and have one single use. These are suitable for giving to friends in personal messages. Guest invitations are multiple use and not time-limited. You can terminate them when you want though. These are suitable for posting in groups, on streams, etc...
This means that you can also have "private" tribes either for solo play or to play on only with some selected friends. However, it will not be free to play on these. It will cost points to resurrect an offline tribe, and also to keep a tribe online. The fewer you are, the more each player has to contribute. This is done so that we can accommodate the request for private tribes without ruining ourselves paying rent for unlimited numbers of servers. More on how these points will be earned in the next part.
Spirit Fragments
When contributing to another player's tribe, you will earn spirit fragments. These will be issued when you die and depend on how much experience you achieved in the different skills. Why experience? Because it's a measurement of how much you have achieved for the tribe. It's not a linear relationship though. The more experience in the same skill, the harder it will be to gain more points with that skill. This is reset per calendar day though, so it's fine to concentrate on a smaller number of skills in each life, but if you just do the same actions over and over during several lives, you will earn fewer and fewer points that day.
A tribe needs "energy" to stay alive and to be resurrected. Your spirit fragments provide this energy. The player who resurrects the tribe has to pay enough points for the tribe to stay online for a full lifespan. When a player joins a live tribe, that player has to contribute enough for the tribe to stay alive until they die of old age. This can be more or less, depending on how much energy the tribe already has when this player joins. There is also a minimum amount that each player has to pay, even if the tribe has enough energy, because this makes it more fair between players over time.
This means that if you wish to play alone in one of your tribes, you always have to earn enough spirit fragments to resurrect that tribe yourself, since no-one else is sharing the cost with you. These fragments are earned by helping others.
Potted Plants
You can now have potted plants to decorate your house!
Santa!
For a limited amount of time you can find Santa every time your tribe levels up after stone age 3, if you give him a cooked hopper he will give you a little gift.
Small fixes
Bouncing issues of player when moving joystick
Rubber banding when Death-claw attacks player
Skip rolling our cleaned skins in the leather manufacturing process
Gave howlers delay between attacks
The half Evo nuts are made by splitting regular Evo nut , but it should be the dry evo nut that should be used (with the water poured out )
Incorrect calculation of how many objects should go into each row of container
In the tutorial island, time will pass one year per 60 seconds again. Otherwise it's still 1 year per 42 seconds Howlers are easier to kill on mobile now. They stand in the same place for a little longer, so you can target them before they move again. It's still challenging, but not impossible any more 🙂
UI Improvements
New tab for tribes by invite:
We changed the look to organizers (work mat and table) in the instructions . example:
If there are alternative choices for tools or ingredients, then they should appear as options on the same line, rather than on separate lines. In the example, you can use either flint shard or flint knife to cut the forked branch into a short shaft, and you can use either grass rope or leather string to tie the flint blade to the shaft.
The sections for showing the crafting use of an object have been slimmed down to only show the objects you can create (instead of showing the crafting actions with full details). This should give a better overview of what a tool or ingredient can be used for.
