IN HEAT: Lustful Nights changes
The Arcade has been out for a little while now, and it’s been very clear that things are less than ideal. In our excitement to release the new mode, a few things definitely slipped through the cracks, and the product we delivered is not up to the standard that we want to hold ourselves to, and for that, we are deeply sorry.
But, we have been overwhelmed by the support and feedback we’ve received to help us course correct things, and we are so grateful to have such a wonderful, dedicated playerbase that is so eager to lend a hand to help us make IN HEAT the best it can be, so rather than mope around worrying about what’s wrong, we’re committed to making Arcade the best game mode it can be for all of you.
So, to start with, we’re obviously tackling the bugs. There were quite a few oddities that cropped up in the final build that weren’t around during testing, but Ari’s asset will no longer be haunting our SFW players, and the boss fight will no longer yoyo towards you menacingly on an infinite loop.
We’ve also heard your feedback about levels 3 and 5, and making that difficulty curve less of a rollercoaster is immediately on the agenda. Starting of course with the demon herself: Sammy 64. We’re disabling her path to the back door for now, which should make her a bit easier to deal with. We’re also rethinking our combinations of characters for these problem nights, so bear with us as we tweak them.
Corruption was also a big issue, so we are buffing our beloved tiger’s ability to set things straight with big increases to the amount of corruption Sammy SO and Sammy NC heal. We're also looking into a general passive corruption decrease, although we'll need a bit more time for this one to get the balancing right.
The most common feedback we received was that clarity in mechanics was lacking, and we are working to correct that issue. It may take a little while as we’ll have to look at ways to introduce more clarity without affecting immersion, and we’ll have to work with our localization team on any new text that we add, which takes some time.
Above all, we want to thank you all for your support and patience as we smooth out this mammoth of an update. We know for sure that one day Arcade will stand proud as our best game mode yet, and we will owe it all to the fantastic community that keeps us on the right track.
