changedSteam Next Fest!If you’re wondering if/how you can help: external visibility helps boost games in the event's algorithm. If you could please recommend the game/ demo to friends or engage with the many social media posts I’ll be posting, it would help a lot!
changedSteam Next Fest! We'll be launching a limited beta in the next few months. If you're interested, you can save your spot here .
changedwe're making some backgroundsWe moved the clouds down to give the text a bit more clear space at the top of the page and sunk the sun a bit lower. I think the later time of day gives the background so much warmth and closeness!
addedwe're making some backgroundsNez makes the backgrounds with traditional watercolours and scans them numerous times as she paints. This gives her multiple layers to work with later, for her to tweak and adjust as we review the images. Once the painting is complete, all the scans are moved into the computer, where Nez cleans them up, edits them, and adds pencils for texture and accents. It’s such a cool process and gives her a lot of control over the final product while still creating something that really feels like a painting.

we're making some backgrounds

And by we, I mean Nez. Avoiding spoilers, I’ll say only that you have the option to visit a beach a few times in I’m Making a Monster. We wanted the beach to look and feel different depending on the scene, so Nez edited and redid parts of the beach background that appears in the prologue to create this beautiful sunset version.

We moved the clouds down to give the text a bit more clear space at the top of the page and sunk the sun a bit lower. I think the later time of day gives the background so much warmth and closeness!

Nez makes the backgrounds with traditional watercolours and scans them numerous times as she paints.
