What's new?

  • New settings screen design!

  • Recycled towers now keep their previous target mode when placed again.

  • The mouse cursor is now highlighted with golden borders in the cemetery and inferno stages so it is easier to see! (waves 15 to 40).

  • Updated Unity version from 2022.3.22f1 to 2022.3.54f1 which includes many stability improvements and crash fixes.

Balancing

  • Reduced "cursed architect" superior gem stock from 6 to 4.

  • Reduced "purge" superior gem stock from 5 to 3.

  • In Endless mode and after the final boss is defeated, the cursed gems selector will appear every even wave instead of every 3 waves (don't worry, it is still possible to beat those highscores!).

  • Removed infinite gems that added attack speed to the towers (this change affects saved games, if you had any they will be ignored).

  • Limited the amount of mini boss spawners to 4 at the same time. This affects the endless mode.

  • The "Teleportation" cursed gem can now teleport creeps through walls and towers (randomly), but it will not appear before wave 9.

  • Arcane-Legacy skill series damage per arcane mage in map reduced from +20/34 to +8/12, +42/54 to +16/22, and +60/82 to +30/42, respectively.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that was causing some cards under specific conditions to not be added to the player's discard pile when receiving them via superior gems.

  • Fixed some Italian and French translations

  • Controls UI will not appear on top of the superior gems selection screen anymore.

  • Fixed an issue with the "start wave" button where it was being displayed even when all the portals didn't appear yet.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the enemies's path preview to stay on the map even when the wave was started.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the "Magic Masters" superior gem to apply its effect to Archers instead of Arcane mages.

  • Fixed some texts that were telling "+x% attack damage" instead of "+x% base damage".

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the towers to not be affected by the run modifiers when reloading a game.

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the towers' price run modifiers to be applied only to the first tower placed of every card, and not on the following prices. Now the impact of "Cheaper towers" and "More expensive towers" is bigger (the % is still the same).

  • Tower's range preview now displays correctly the tower's range when there is a run modifier affecting it.

Other

  • The tower upgraded effect animation's interval is reduced when having 20, 40, and 60 towers or more (For example when picking a superior gem that increases towers' attack). Also, the animation is now affected by game speed.

  • Increased the opacity of the enemies' paths. They will also be dark again on the latest stage instead of white.

  • Various optimization improvements. Specially for late game. Details:

    • Disabled various cached objects while not being used.

    • Implemented object pooling on various particle systems, also on creeps, projectiles, etc.

    • Removed Debug.Log lines (this actually caused a big impact).

    • Updated many of the game sounds to activate via events instead of on-demand instantiation.

    • Various processes were moved from the main thread to a multi-threaded architecture. For example, the tower's target adquisition system was recreated from scratch to be not only simpler but also to use multiple threads and work in background.

    • To give an idea of the impact: with 170+ towers on map I went from 1 FPS to 60 FPS. The end results will depend on your computer, but the difference is highly noticeable!.
