removedA few weeks ago something strange happened to the project, I don't know if there was an issue with my computer or with the engine or what it was but there was an issue that was no longer allowing me to open the project in the engine that I was using. So I made the decision to upgrade the engine from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5! It was something that I was debating on for a few years and for a while I figured it was best to stick to the engine version that the game had been in development with for the longest but with issue that happened a few days ago, I went ahead and made the switch.
addedUpgrading the engine means that I now have access to all the features that have been added to Unreal Engine since 4.27 up to now so I may be able to do things with this project that I wasn't able to do before (or that it would've been more difficult to do). I am still getting a feel for the change and still fixing any holes left from the transfer but overall I think this is a positive for the game!
changedWith that being said there are a few hiccups. The biggest one right now is that the performance has taken a big hit, I am not sure why and I am hoping that it is just an editor thing but I am working on it because I want to make sure the game runs smoothly. I will also be doing a lot more playtesting and debugging to find as many thing that may not be working as intended because of setting changes and additions in the engine.
