To our loyal Atherton employees,

Steam Next Fest was an amazing moment for Huntsman. We finally got to share how far the game has come since the Itch demo, gained invaluable feedback from all of you and saw our wishlists explode (more on that next week). More than 15,000 people have been stalked through the Atherton Labs hallways and your support on social media helped to amplify our hard work!

But we didn’t just sit back and watch. We set Huntsman loose on the game and it has been steadily devouring the reported bugs, and we’ve shared below some examples of the many fixes made in the past few weeks. The demo will remain live up to and through launch and we hope you’ll all continue to celebrate the game.

  • Bug fix in which the states of things throughout the level were not saving when the player respawned after death

  • Bug fix where changing between data layers for sections of the map glitched if the player was holding an item at the time

  • Instances where the data layer would not load properly were fixed

  • Player was loading into the level too fast, so we had to tweak the loading screen to wait until the data layer was finished loading

  • Added option in settings to change language instead of only detecting at game launch

  • Control Panel for gates wouldn't work after death, had to ensure values persisted between deaths

  • Some Orbweavers didn't react to items being thrown at them

  • Added more ambient sounds

  • Certain sounds were not being affected by options for volumes. For example, turning down master volume wouldn’t mute certain sounds

  • Created Packed Level Actors, and reduced a lot of texture sizes to help reduce frame rate loss

  • Adjustments to Spider AI, value tweaks like percent chances for Sprinting, Freezing
