addedToday, we’re excited to tell you about our procedural world generation and show off some of the new particles we’ve been adding ✨
addedProcedural World 🗺️Humblets features an open procedural world, which means the game blends randomness with careful design. Every time you start a new game, a unique world is generated just for you to explore. Our system builds this world by piecing together biomes, paths, and even tiny details like road signs, making each playthrough feel fresh and original.
addedProcedural World 🗺️The world isn't just fully procedural, we'll still be going in and designing locations that will be scattered around the world. They are special locations we designed where you can meet new characters, visit shops and uncover fun spots.
addedProcedural World 🗺️This makes every journey feel new and exciting while guiding you to important discoveries that shape your adventure.
addedProcedural World 🗺️It’s really important to us to create a world players enjoy exploring and discovering on their own terms, a world that’s really theirs. Whether you meet a new character, stumble upon a hidden spot or simply wander around, we want each moment to feel special and unique to you.
addedProcedural World 🗺️Our procedural world also allows for plenty of replayability. Whether you’re starting a new single player game or joining with friends for a shared adventure, you’ll always have a new world to discover. And if you ever discover a world you love, you can save its “world seed” to revisit that exact same generation anytime or share it with friends.

Welcome to the very first Humblets devlog!

We want you to continue being part of this journey, and we hope these devlogs will make you feel right here alongside us. In each update, we’ll share some of what we’ve been working on, talk a little about our design decisions, and give you a peek at how the world of Humblets is growing.

As with any game in development, everything you see here is still a work in progress and may change as we refine and improve. The game will keep evolving with every step we take.

Today, we’re excited to tell you about our procedural world generation and show off some of the new particles we’ve been adding ✨

Let’s jump in!

Procedural World 🗺️

Humblets features an open procedural world, which means the game blends randomness with careful design. Every time you start a new game, a unique world is generated just for you to explore. Our system builds this world by piecing together biomes, paths, and even tiny details like road signs, making each playthrough feel fresh and original.

The world isn't just fully procedural, we'll still be going in and designing locations that will be scattered around the world. They are special locations we designed where you can meet new characters, visit shops and uncover fun spots.

This makes every journey feel new and exciting while guiding you to important discoveries that shape your adventure.

It’s really important to us to create a world players enjoy exploring and discovering on their own terms, a world that’s really theirs. Whether you meet a new character, stumble upon a hidden spot or simply wander around, we want each moment to feel special and unique to you.

Our procedural world also allows for plenty of replayability. Whether you’re starting a new single player game or joining with friends for a shared adventure, you’ll always have a new world to discover. And if you ever discover a world you love, you can save its “world seed” to revisit that exact same generation anytime or share it with friends.

In the end, our goal is to craft a game world that players want to return to, one that feels both familiar and full of surprises with every playthrough.

Particle Effects 💥

We’ve added some new particle effects too!

Now, when your humblet runs or jumps, soft dust clouds rise beneath their feet.

Dropping an item or a larger object falling stirs up a dust cloud as well, while items dropped into water create a little splash and float gently on the surface.

Chopping trees feels even more dynamic. When chopped, wood splinters fly off with each strike, dust puffs up when the tree hits the ground, and leaves fall.

And our campfires have an updated smoke effect to match our game’s cozy style.

These small touches make interactions feel a lot more responsive, helping to bring the world to life and we have so many ideas for more.

That’s all for our very first devlog! If we want to see all our latest updates, make sure to join our Discord and follow our socials ✨ We’d also love to hear your ideas for other particle effects we could add!

Stay cozy, Daria and Aaron, Berry Bite 💚
