changedIt's time for us to announce that House Fighters: Total Mess is coming to Steam this year! We're super excited because we've been waiting with some information here. We've been busy preparing our game for the Digital Dragons event, and then updating it. So now's the time for us to make some announcements and share some history about creating House Fighters: Total Mess .
removedWe created this game to enhance the feelings that we had while playing Airfix: Dogfighter . It was our inspiration to create House Fighters , but some things in that game got old and were no longer "fun" in the modern gaming world. We decided to explore the idea of flying a plane in a house full of adventures, and we quickly realized that we didn't want to be another World War game. We wanted to create our own world. We abandoned the WW setting and switched to more of a Toy Story vibe. We wanted to ensure that our game would be available to casual players that don't need to be war enthusiasts to enjoy it. While playing Airfix , we also felt the lack of a deep story, so in our game we wanted to make sure that we had one deeply thought out, and that it would be fun for players to enjoy.
addedAfter we released our demo, we wanted to get feedback so we’d know what we had to improve. And it worked out for us! We knew that we needed to fix the tutorial, add some crucial options into the settings, improve enemy AI (as it was a little bit buggy), make some small adjustments like adding an indicator to the doors that you have to open, and fix a few bugs. So we did! Our updated demo is much more improved than the first version. We also added new lighting into our game—it's still a work in progress, but we feel confident enough to show it already in the demo. We added music and more sound effects so you can be more immersed.
