addedAlong with a handful of fixes that aren't worth enumerating (lots of subtle small things), v1.2 adds free content to the base game. It adds Jooseppi, the mayoral candidate who fights for worker's rights, in as a character you can actually interact with. To find him, walk over to where Hi-Table Gum Factory is. Jooseppi's (ratty as heck) campaign offices are to the right of that. He needs your help. It's just a goofy little side-quest, and involves (almost) no platforming, and you'll probably have it done in 20 minutes. It, amongst other things, hopefully removes the need to grind boxes for bits for the later upgrades in the game, and gives you some other ways of affording the early upgrades. It also loops in a few of the characters I felt didn't get to say much in the base game, and gives you more ability to help them achieve their goals.
