Horror Scenarios: The Redwood Estate changes
Following player feedback and additional playtesting, we've introduced new features, refined gameplay mechanics, and fixed several issues to improve the overall experience and immersion. We've also made it easier to visit and wishlist the game on Steam after completing the demo.
New Features
Added a direct Steam Wishlist link upon completing the demo.
Added a run turn speed adjustment, while run input is down turn speed increased by 45% to improve movement responsiveness and combat flow.
Gameplay Improvements
Reduced Quick Swap duration from 2 seconds to 1 second for faster weapon switching and smoother combat flow.
Increased aiming turn speed from 0.45 to 0.50.
Reviewed and refined various dialogues and interactions to improve readability and make conversations sound more natural.
Bug Fixes
Fixed an issue where the Manor Main Hall (F1) music would restart instead of persisting after loading a save, breaking immersion.
Fixed difficult interaction with the Welcome Lore document in the northwest section of Manor F1 due to incorrect collision.
Fixed an issue where the Plant Door in northwest Manor F1 would still play sound effects after the vine had been destroyed.
Fixed an issue that could cause players to lose a reload when quick-swapping from a melee weapon while out of ammo, due to conflicting timers.
Rebalanced pre-load scene sound effects and music volumes to reduce excessive loudness.
Fixed an issue where pressing the Aim button during a room transition could leave the player stuck in the aiming animation and without controls.
Fixed a visual issue in the Item Box UI where mouse focus could be lost, causing the cursor to disappear.
Fixed an issue where the player could become input locked at the start of the Jason encounter until entering aim mode.
Fixed the opening hallway sequence, where the character could appear to float instead of walking during the initial movement.
