fixedSadly the game launched with some bugs that didn’t show up in QA, some of these bugs prevented the correct progress of the game. They were all fixed in this update, but still, if you found any bug or issue in the game please let me know so I can fix it as soon as I can.
fixedBugs fixed:
fixedThe progress didn't take into account correctly the scores of the levels in zone 2, preventing some achievements. This is fixed and the progress should update automatically as soon as you open the game giving the corresponding achievements.
changedThe Start Path button sometimes vanishes. Almost all the UI animations are made with an asset that helps with this kind of animation, but sometimes it failed with specific elements, apparently, the Start Path button was one of these elements. To prevent this the way that animation worked was changed completely to prevent this issue.

🐸 - The first update of Hoping Forest is here! - 🐸

Thanks to everyone that buy the game and all the support during it first week.

Sadly the game launched with some bugs that didn’t show up in QA, some of these bugs prevented the correct progress of the game. They were all fixed in this update, but still, if you found any bug or issue in the game please let me know so I can fix it as soon as I can.

Bugs fixed:

  • The progress didn't take into account correctly the scores of the levels in zone 2, preventing some achievements. This is fixed and the progress should update automatically as soon as you open the game giving the corresponding achievements.

  • Cars could drift away from the streets. Sometimes the cars didn’t rotate as they should in the corners drifting away in the streets and breaking the levels, preventing their competition. Now the cars check their rotation and fix themselves if something went wrong.

  • Tiles could end up with wrong rotations. Sometimes, especially if quick and fast movements were made, the tiles could end up with a wrong rotation preventing the competition of the puzzles. Now the tiles check their rotation and fix themselves if something went wrong.

  • The Start Path button sometimes vanishes. Almost all the UI animations are made with an asset that helps with this kind of animation, but sometimes it failed with specific elements, apparently, the Start Path button was one of these elements. To prevent this the way that animation worked was changed completely to prevent this issue.

  • Various small bugs fixed

However, there are some bugs I'm still working on, these are:

Known bugs:

  • Sometimes the tiles can get stuck preventing any interaction with them, however, this only lasts a few seconds and fix itself after some time or while interacting with other tiles.

There are also some quality-of-life improvements that were added, these changes were left out initially in the previous version of the game due to deadlines, these are:

Quality-of-life improvements:

  • Language selection is now stored. After the updating, you will still need to select the language when you launched the game, but going forward the game will load automatically to the main menu. To change the language you’ll need to do it in the options.

  • Windowed mode added. Now you can toggle between fullscreen and window mode. The fullscreen is the default option and the recommended way of playing the game.

  • Options in the pause menu inside the puzzles. Now you can access the options of the game in the pause menu during the puzzles with the exception of the language selection, this is still exclusive to the main menu.

The demo version was also updated. Previously the demo was one update behind and didn’t have some details that are present in the full version of the game. Now both of them are in the same version.

There are also some small improvements to the demo:

  • Now in the puzzle selection you can see the layout of the zones with the rest of the puzzles blocked. This should help to give a better picture of the whole content of the game for those who preferred trying it first instead of just showing an empty space.

I hope all these changes improve the overall experience of the game, if you find any other bug or issue within the game please let me know in the comments of this announcement or via email at contact@arthemystudios.com so I can fix it as soon as possible.

Thanks again for all the support and for those who hadn’t bought the game yet don’t miss the chance to play Hoping Forest now with the Steam Puzzle Fest discount.
