addedAs the systems of Hope’s End started layering together things felt good. We wanted to add depth to the game for everyone to explore: More progression, more unlocks, more difficulty sliders, more everything. But as we packed features into the game we veered away from our vision of the quick, bit-sized, retro arcade-style gameplay we’d originally set out to create. With a team our size simplicity is extremely important, we let feature creep pull our attention away from the key aspects that would make Hope’s End a unique Explorers Guild game. The good news is that all of you helped us catch it early and are working fast and hard to remedy the situation.
changedWe will be releasing a beta version of this update in a week or two and we are eager to hear all of your feedback. We are not detailing out all of the changes because frankly there are just too many. It is a dramatically different game and you will notice that from the moment you log in. One of the first things you will likely notice is the far more unique retro visual style we have for the game. We realize that we were far too cautious with the visuals of Hope’s End and didn’t like our vision of what a psionic god-like projection view of the world would look like.
addedWe will update the roadmap after this new version is released. We are designing the game to be played in Seasons, much like Path of Exile or Diablo 3, and this new update will set us up well for Season 1. We are excited to see you all in the new and simplified world of Hope’s End soon!

We want to update the community regarding our first major update after the Early Access launch. We received a lot of great feedback from the community during the first couple of weeks of Early Access and the alpha before that and those experiences helped us realize that we didn’t hit the mark we were aiming for with this first version of Hope’s End.
