If you'd prefer to watch a video version of this update, here's a video version of the entire devlog:

First Things First...

We’re introducing a completely new system - Immunity!

Sota7 is what it is - an alien planet. Therefore, its atmosphere contains certain pathogens that no space explorer from beyond can handle. EON-sealed structures, like your base, will remain your safe haven in-between expeditions, of course, a place where your Immunity won't be affected. But the moment you step outside? It's game-on.

Speaking of that - there is a way to stay safe and healthy outside, don’t worry! Hennessy will be equipped with the blueprint to craft Immunity Pumps, which you’ll be able to equip, increasing your Immunity, therefore giving you more time to explore.

We don’t want to show too much of this mechanic just yet, but here’s a peek at what the pump will look like!

A Fresh Landing

Your journey onto Sota7 deserves a proper entrance. That’s why our landing pod has received a full rework - improving its textures and visual clarity, helping you navigate it better. You can treat it as a completely fresh take on an older feature of the game.

Hairstyles

Along with refreshing the Landing Pod, we’ve added a mirror to its interior, which will allow you to pick Hennessy’s hairstyle from a selected set. These bring more personality, more variety, and a bit more flair to how you present yourself on Sota7.

Making Navigating Sota7 Easier

One of our ongoing goals is making Sota7 easier to read and navigate without compromising exploration. Enter: the directional indicator.

It’s still very much a work in progress but we still wanted to show you the direction we’re heading in - literally. This feature is being added to help you orient yourself more intuitively, allowing you to react to danger or points of interest much quicker.

Animal Snacks

Yes, you read that right! We’ve added snacks to the game! You’ll be able to give them to the animals you encounter on Sota7. Here’s a sneak peek at what feeding a Zhalo looks like!

Resource Reworks

And of course, we’re hot on grinding out all the visual reworks - and our resources aren’t an exception from them.

Here’s a look at how Titanium and Magnetite will look like in the final version of the game.

New Visual Flavours and Grow Bed

On the topic of visuals - we’ve made even more improvements to our VFX! It should really tie things up with each other, even more than before.

And look here! We’ve added a completely new Grow Bed to use! It’ll help you cultivate and automatically gather plant products. You’ll be able to see the sprinklers really working in-game too, since we were talking visuals first - both versions of the Grow Bed will have that feature, actually. Pretty savvy, am I right?

And that’s all for now, Explorers!

We’re continuing to refine the world of Sota7 one feature at a time, and it’s always a joy to bring you along for the ride. Stay tuned for more updates, more discoveries, and more glimpses into what shapes our game.

Make sure to join our Discord if you’re itching for more! We’re doing our best to increase the activity, and we’d love to have you around for it!

Thank you again for sticking with Honeycomb: The World Beyond!

Cheers!
