addedSurprise! For the past few months, I've been working on a major update for my first game, Home is Where One Starts.... I made this short, exploration title in 2015 to prove to myself I could finish a project, and it honestly did better than I anticipated (I wasn't expecting much, haha). It inspired me to make a new game that was slightly larger called The First Tree, and that release changed my life . I wanted to make sure this small game was up-to-date so future players could play it on their system without any legacy crash problems.
changed64-bit engine upgrade (helps with compatibility on all systems, especially MacOS)
addedAdded a run button! Whaaattt??
changedChanged the objective of the game due to confusion. Now, it's simply "Find the 8 memories"
addedAdded a familiar creature from The First Tree (can you find it?)
changedCountless bug fixes, performance optimizations, and quality of life improvements

There are countless updates, but here are the biggest one:

  • 64-bit engine upgrade (helps with compatibility on all systems, especially MacOS)

  • Input system totally revamped. All controllers should work.

  • Added a run button! Whaaattt??

  • Huge graphical overhaul

  • Changed the objective of the game due to confusion. Now, it's simply "Find the 8 memories"

  • Added a familiar creature from The First Tree (can you find it?)

  • Countless bug fixes, performance optimizations, and quality of life improvements

I'm normally not one to work on old projects... I'd rather move on and make something new and better. But this imperfect game holds a special place in my heart since it inspired The First Tree, so I hope you enjoy this new improved version. Thanks for all your support, and now go find some memories!
