What changed

0 fixes1 addition4 changes4 removals
  • Performance
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
changedThe game performance should be better now and graphics sharper and clearer! The reflecting water is more efficient and looks much nicer than before.
addedI've replaced the old tutorial and created a brand new one that should help show how to play the game way better and clearer than the old tutorial.
changedI've improved the user interface and implemented a Game Settings menu, which was sorely needed.
changedSteve and George will now replant crops after harvesting them!
removedI've thrown out Sigil drones and the demolisher bulldozer. I really wanted Home By The River to be a wholesome relaxing experience so there is no more time pressure, no more Hidden stat, and no worries about drones coming to destroy your beautiful home that you created after so much struggle! Same applies to Sigil loans as well, there is no time pressure anymore so you don't feel pressured to collect money to get them paid off. I've also removed the pioneer Iqbal since there is no more Hidden stat and so he is not required anymore.
removedI've removed multiplayer and worlds, which has improved the code base and will allow me to make future improvements much more easily.

Pioneers, I've come back to Home By The River after three long years to implement some important updates!

  • The game performance should be better now and graphics sharper and clearer! The reflecting water is more efficient and looks much nicer than before.

  • I've replaced the old tutorial and created a brand new one that should help show how to play the game way better and clearer than the old tutorial.

  • I've improved the user interface and implemented a Game Settings menu, which was sorely needed.

  • 5120 x 1440 is now a supported screen resolution.

  • Steve and George will now replant crops after harvesting them!

  • I've thrown out Sigil drones and the demolisher bulldozer.

  • I've removed multiplayer and worlds, which has improved the code base and will allow me to make future improvements much more easily.

  • Some activities like the game dev mini game were granting way too much money and made the core activities of planting and harvesting trivial so I reduced the earnings to more sensible figures.

  • I've removed sky nodes because they are a distraction from the core of the game which is growing and building.

  • I've removed being able to place soil tiles above ground level so all farming and planting of trees is now done on the ground and not in the air. Existing save files will restore whatever structures have been made but will not allow for soil tiles to be placed in the air.

I'd love to hear your feedback and let me know what else you would like to see in Home By The River!

Thanks
