Hollywood Animal changes
This update focuses on refining the Simulation layer of Hollywood Animal — the systems that shape competition, progression, and the overall balance of power in your cinematic empire. From smarter rivals to more meaningful awards, we’ve reworked a wide range of mechanics that define how the world reacts to your studio. Here’s what’s changed under the hood:
You now earn slightly more money from film distribution.
Competitors’ film quality improves over time as the game progresses.
Competitors have become better at choosing advertising for their films.
More appropriate films are now nominated for — and win — the Pollux awards.
The bonus from additional film promotion for Pollux has been increased.
Competitors now participate more actively in Alliance voting and propose initiatives more often.
Competitors now buy cinemas more aggressively and go after your employees more frequently.
As your agents level up, it becomes even easier to carry out successful Offensive Operations.
Competitors now protect their characters based on how successfully they are doing business. For example, you’ll be able to run Offensive Operations against Marginese staff with ease — but going after Gerstein Brothers employees will require high-level agents.
More characters now have a preferred illegal gift.
Characters’ favorite illegal gifts now differ more strongly from one another.
Composers and editors now gain experience slightly faster.
Most Simulation changes apply to saves created before 0.8.67EA. That said, we recommend starting a new run to fully experience how your competitors’ behavior has evolved. Alongside new content, this update also includes a list of fixes and improvements:
Fixed a soft-lock that could occur when entering the gift or secrets window.
Fixed a bug which allowed a competitor to vote against an initiative they had proposed themselves.
Fixed a soft-lock which could occur when using Ryan Doyle’s services.
Fixed the display of certain buildings on your studio.
Added 300 new posters.
Several UI fixes.
