Hiraeth changes
Hello Survivors! 👨🏻🚀
Today’s update focuses mainly on enemy behavior, with several new quality‑of‑life improvements and new Steam achievements. I’m also reminding you about yesterday’s smaller update — details below. Let’s dive in!
Improved Enemy Reaction & Aggression
In this update, I restored enemy AI reactions and aggression to the level known from older versions (before the ZED Mode changes).
Animals and ZEDs now behave more consistently:
Slug: tough (high HP) but intentionally non‑aggressive
Common ZED: sometimes non‑aggressive
All other enemies: react when they see the player within their vision range, and sometimes to other stimuli such as player‑generated sounds
Encounters are now more challenging and require:
frequent healing
regular EVA Suit repairs using repair tape
Enemy classes will continue to be tweaked, but the improvement is already noticeable. I’ve tested it myself — you can still manage early fights with the hammer, but it’s safer to stay alert and develop your Marksman skill.
Better Enemy Restoration After Loading a Save
Previously, you might have noticed that shortly after loading a game, dead enemies could still move for a moment, and in rare cases — if they were close — even attack the player. This issue has now been fixed.
Enemies should no longer animate or react after load if they were already defeated.
Marksman Skill Progress Widget
A follow‑up to yesterday’s small update.
A new HUD widget now shows your Marksman progress:
It activates automatically when you try to pick up a weapon without having the required Marksman level (new in this update)
It’s visible on the HUD when power is on
You can enable/disable it in TAB → WEAPON
You can also quickly check your Marksman level and XP there
As always, all skills can be reviewed in TAB → STATISTICS
Central Shelter – Access Requirement Removed
I received a bug report regarding access to the Central Shelter, which previously required Survivor skill level 1: https://steamcommunity.com/app/2646160/discussions/3/588433820964036588/
On my own Steam client play I didn’t encounter this issue, but anything is possible — so to ensure stability, I’ve removed the access requirement entirely. This bug should no longer appear.
Please note:
The fix is guaranteed for NEW GAME
When playing with older save files, behavior may vary (save files often have their own rules)
The access requirement never had major gameplay impact — it was just a small extra challenge. What matters is that we’ve eliminated a potential bug once and for all.
New Steam Achievements!
I’ve added new achievements. As usual, their activation will be fully confirmed after this update, but the previously added ones worked correctly — I personally received the achievement for unlocking the first Perk on a regular Steam player account.
New achievements:
Authorized for Tier 1 Guns
Advance your Marksman skill to gain clearance for Tier 1 weapons. Confirmed, as Steam user:
Let There Be Light
Complete the Comm Center quest and restore power to the facility.
Born to the Ride
Take your first drive in a vehicle.

I’ve also prepared:
“Comm Center Quest” – Spoiler Guide (EN 🇺🇸 & FR 🇫🇷)
I’m not publishing it on Steam yet, but if you’re interested, contact me — I’ll send you a PDF.
Save Games
You can use your previous save files in this version. However, for some fixes to work fully, I recommend starting a NEW GAME.
In‑Game [HELP] Temporarily Unavailable
Due to ongoing work on the web server that hosts the in‑game HELP files, the HELP section inside the game is temporarily unavailable. For now, please visit the Steam forums or join the Discord, where you can get any assistance you need.
I’ve also launched my Ko‑Fi page:
If you’d like to support my work, it would be extremely helpful at this stage. Thank you in advance ❤️
Have a great weekend, enjoy testing, and thank you for your support!
