July Director's Message
Since we first revealed KAKUREONI at Tokyo Game Show 2025, so many of you have taken the time to play the game and share your thoughts with us.
We have received more feedback than we could have imagined, and for that, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks.
Looking Toward the Demo
Our next major milestone is the Demo version, and development is now moving forward with that goal in mind.
After carefully reviewing all the feedback we received during CBT2, we realized something important:
The game is still only built on its fundamentals.
Why did we come to that conclusion?
Because almost every compliment we received was simply,"This is fun"or"This is really well made."
Those comments made us incredibly happy.
But at the same time, they also made us realize that the game still lacks those unforgettable moments that make players think,
"I have to tell someone about what just happened!"
The Experience We Want KAKUREONI to Deliver
At our core, we believe that games are all about creating memorable experiences.
For KAKUREONI, that experience is:
A genuine game of hide-and-seek between terrifyingly powerful Oni and vulnerable children.
To make that experience even stronger, we believe the game needs more moments that are unique to KAKUREONI —memorable moments that players would naturally want to tell others about it.
With that goal in mind, we're focusing on three major areas as we work toward the Demo.
1. Improving the Quality of Existing Features
We'll continue polishing the gameplay and refining the overall experience.
2. Designing and Implementing New Systems
We're exploring new mechanics that can create even more memorable and uniquely KAKUREONI moments.
3. Improving Overall Player Experience
We'll also be improving areas that haven't received enough attention yet, including the UI, tutorials, settings, and in-game information, so the game becomes more intuitive and comfortable for everyone to play.
In Closing
To everyone who has supported KAKUREONI so far,
thank you!
Every piece of feedback you share is invaluable to our development team and helps shape the future of the game.
We'll continue sharing our progress through development videos and Steam News, and we hope you'll keep sending us your honest thoughts and feedback.
We look forward to continuing this journey together with all of you.
Thank you for your continued support.
